Excited for Mississippi (Valley) state

Guys, I am an out-of-state Griz fan but this season will be my first game, I made a few bucks on the side this week (don't tell the wife!) so I splurged on tickets for the Mississippi State game for me and my cousin. Hope some of you local Griz can tell the new guy what to expect :thumb: Is the atmosphere on game day going to be as good as everyone says. Also my cousin and I like to get a little crazy   what is there to do in Missoula.

Its Miss. Valley State... (I Wish UM could get Miss ST. into Wa-Griz)

But get out and enjoy the downtown on Friday night, most of the great bars are all walking distance from the parking garage.

If you want to get crazy... Sneak into the student section.

As far as atmosphere, this is a game UM should roll... so my guess is it won't be the same level as some of the other games... BUT YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Also, hit the tail gates on Saturday... Everyone will welcome you... It I want free beers I would wear a shirt that said

"Watched ESPN and had to see it for myself. Traveled XXXX miles to see my first Griz game"

In fact some of the guys on this board have a great tailgate... hopefully some of them will PM you an invite.

Guys i promise to bring a good time and not do anything to embarras Griz Nation!!! Can you go out to the tailgate at halftime and refresh, come back for 3rd quarter?

You can leave at the half and go back in. 2/3 of the fans will do just that

Just have your butts back in the seats by the start of the second half. Leave earlier in the second quarter if need be, but be back in time. Promise... No really.

Have never (or hardly ever -- ok, blowout) left early for halftime. Pick decent lines, get beer ... drink/talk. Can even find a snack if you want ... just keep moving. No problem to get back before 2nd half kickoff. If you want two beers, go for it. No dawdling on the first and you may have to chug the the last of the second ... been there, done that. Don't know why it's so difficult for some people.

If it's a competitive ballgame or (God forbid), the Griz are trailing, you want to see the first series to see what adjustments each team has made. Of course, if you don't really give a damn about the game itself ... well, that's your problem.

If you wanna have a good time. I'll show you two around and if we feel like it, we'll come in a couple minutes late into the 3rd quarter.

.

The stadium was half empty for half of the 3rd Quarter against NDSU. That tells you all you need to know about the proud tradition of our fan base.............

You're going to love it. You won't have to look for fun or crazy...they will find you.

I'm with ya stanfordgriz
Going to my first Home Griz game in 13 years and taking my 14yr old to his first ever game at Wa Griz.
He claims it is child abuse that he has never been to a game there yet lol. I will get to my seat early and stay late to soak in every second of the craziness that is Griz nation. 800 miles and a thousand smiles :thumb:
