EWU's next QB

Finally official.

Have to break this to "Screamin_Eagle174" rather slowly and in all subtlety, but, I've heard, mind you, this is but hearsay and all, but, from very, very reliable sources it's very well known that your guy has as a boyhood idol, as well as a modern day role-model, Mr. Stewie from "Family Guy." You may want to think this one over.

Kind of like how the Griz were 6-4 against FCS competition and missed out on the playoffs in 2010? Try again little man.

Screamin Eagle. I don't know if you're the one who said you have only been an Eastern fan since 2004, so If I'm wrong I apologize. But either way, is ONE season in 17 that the Griz had four losses and missed the playoffs the single BEST smack you can come up with. Because, while I was happy Eastern won the chipper last year, as an Eastern fan, or fan of any other Big Sky school, you can't even begin to compute in your brain the kind of dominance and success the Griz have had against your school, against the rest of the Big Sky over a stretch that long. You can't comprehend it and no matter how bad you wish for it, Eastern, MSU and the rest of the Sky, will never know what a run like that is like. EVER...And if you and Bobcat fans are truly honest with yourselves, you KNOW flat out I'm right. IF 7-4 (and yes, 6-4 against DI) is the worst the Griz have had since 1993, and IF that's the best smack talk opposing fans can come up with it, then as a Griz fan, I just realized I have it even better than I thought and I've realized I've had it pretty good the last two decades. So thanks for making it all look even better.

Not really. 6-5 for EWU was a normal year. 7-4 for UM was not.

Seasons with 5 or more losses:

EWU: 11 of the last 19; 88 losses (4.8/yr)
UM: 0 of the last 19; 49 losses (2.6/yr)

I disagree, what was most relevant was not mentioned in the article. That BLM led EWU to a National Championship and the QB that beat him out of his starting job at SMU is now transferring to EWU in hopes of leading them to another one. It also failed to mention that he will have one of the best group of starting WRs in the FCS to help him reach that goal.

It just kills me that you can NEVER say a good thing about any program other than the Griz. If Pardon was transferring to Montana you be leading the cheer. He is instead transferring to EWU (a program that won a National Championship just two seasons ago) and all you can say is he is going to a team that was 6-5 last season. Sad that you are so insecure.

I'd be more worried if he was transferring to Cal Poly. ;)

You shouldn't. Cal Poly runs the triple option and he would not be as good of a fit here as he is at EWU where they have one of the top groups of WRs in the FCS. Now if he racked big numbers at Georgia Tech and was transferring here you would have more to be worried about. :D

Cal Poly already has an established QB in Broadous and their QB of the future (Tanner Trosin). Trosin threw for over 5,000 yards and 49 TDs and rushed for 1,200 yards and 20 TDs as senior at Folsom HS last year.

Interesting that you only went back 19 years...why not go back an even 20? Why not go back to the 80's? You choose to pick a time-frame which is consistent with when UM started winning. My guess is that Montana must have had a losing season in '92, while Eastern won a Big Sky title that year. I'd have to look, but that's just a guess since you sometimes have a tendancy to cherry-pick stats.

But anyway, 20 years ago is ancient history. To my knowledge, Eastern wasn't even a fully funded program in the early 90's. Yeah, the program had a couple Big Sky championships and playoff runs before then, but modern history for EWU started in 2004. Just as the Griz didn't really become relevant in 1-AA football until the early to mid 90's, it took EWU approximately 10 years longer to start winning with any amount of consistency. So you can continue to bring up ancient history if you like, but what matters most is what's happened recently.

2004 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2005 - 7-5 (playoffs)
2006 - 3-8
2007 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2008 - 6-5
2009 - 8-4 (playoffs)
2010 - 13-2 (playoffs)
2011 - 6-5

Comparing winning percentages is great, but a little perspective is needed. No offense to UM, but most years Eastern isn't playing Fort Lewis or Western State at home. So if you consider that Eastern had a considerably more difficult non-conference schedule most of those years than Montana, that's not a bad run. Many of those schedules included games against 2 FBS teams, which Montana has the benefit of not having to schedule. Had Eastern not played two Big 12 teams in 2008, an had instead played an FCS, that most likely would have been a playoff year as well. Scheduling benefits and home games are huge.

You missed the intention of my response to kemajic COMPLETELY. Right over your head.

He said that the most relevant thing is that EWU went 6-5 last year. It's the only ammunition he has. My response was in relation to his... that EWU going 6-5 last year and barely missing the playoffs is just as relevant as the Griz going 6-4 in 2010 and just missing the playoffs... It's not relevant at all. Especially considering the freakish number of injuries we sustained to our star players.

But congrats on your epic insecurity, evidence by your diatribe about how great the Griz are. Hope it helped. :thumb:

You and AZ are the queens of cherry picking. Look, I can do that too.

National Championships in the last decade:

EWU: 1/1
UM: 0/3

I'm sure playing Dixie State and Colorado of the Mines every year while playing 1 FBS game every 4 or 5 really prepares you guys to play a real team in the NC, right?

Don't ya just love these wet dreamers from the Palouse who come on this board every year spouting their glorious hopes for de-throning the Griz as Big Sky champs. Then, after it does not happen AGAIN, thei slink back to Cheney and disappear for months. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Entertaining perhaps, if one needs a bit of hyperbolic humor. :P :P

the new wonder boy may mean a few more in the win column, but I will be there next fall when JJ carves up the eagles on their red throw rug....

really, has this new wonder boy even seen Cheney????

If they are a one year wonder wouldn't that make the Griz only a two year wonder?
