EWU's next Payton and NC winning QB?

I just wish a 20,000 or so Spokanites would be somewhat impressed as well.

We can both agree on that one. The good news is that we actually averaged around 9,000 a game this season, which, believe it or not, is above 100% capacity since there are only 8700 permanent seats. Not bad for a year that didn't include the Griz at home.

Obviously there is room for improvement. The good news is that most people expect the plans for the entire renovation of the entire east side of the stadium to be released in the Spring. This is something we've all been waiting for a hell if a long time.

Sure you'll take it. Because it's the best you can offer, and because you have no idea how hard it is to sustain the level of excellence the GRIZ have over the last 20 years. And POYs bring recognition to a program?? Seriously dude, ask around the nation and see which program is better known. If you think you'd get more than 5% to answer ewoooo, I also presume you think you'll eventually date the tooth fairy.
These EWU dude's admiration for POY awards is comical. It clarifies that they have no appreciation that it's a team sport that requires at least 40 football players capable of contributiong at a high level. EWU has always managed to find a couple stars, but their overall team capability, balance and depth is far inferior to UM and this explains their inconsistency. The stars and planets aligned for them one year and they talk like that is the norm for the program, when the norm is actually the 6-5 season they turned in last year. They don't talk much about overall WL records over a period of time; data that supports consistency and excellence. Try to limit the discussion to POY's or the one year in 28 when they got past the semifinals. EWU has won only four times against the Griz in the last 19 tries, but all that's important to these idiots is that they had one big year and have 4 POY's. Crystal clear insecurity talking.

We've been past the semi-finals twice in the time frame you're referencing, not once (1997, 2010). That's exactly two times more than any other Big Sky team besides Montana during that time. Just so you have your facts straight......

My facts are straight; yours could use a little work. Getting past the semifinals requires winning the semifinal game. Youngstown St. won the semifinal game against EWU in Spokane on 12/13/97, 25-14.

The best thing that could have happened for the Griz and the BSC was for a team from the BSC NOT named Montana to win the NC. That happened, and proved the BSC isn't a one-horse wonder...but, to get VALUE out of that victory, you gotta sustain excellence. Yeah, you guys had some injuries last year and as a result slid to 6-5. If you miss again THIS year, than some of the posters in this thread may in fact be correct in the "one-hit wonder" theme. The BSC (and the Griz) benefit greatly when it's not Montana and the 7 D-II schools...which is what it appeared to be for the 15 years prior to 2010.

You're right, we made it to the semi's in 1997, not past them.

Good post, Ranger. And I understand you weren't making that allegation, but screaming (mad) eagle is. It is he who I was refuting with those comments.

And yes, I'm extremely impressed with what Eastern has accomplished. That game scares me every year. I just wish a 20,000 or so Spokanites would be somewhat impressed as well.

No, I wasn't. I was comparing UM and EWU over the last two years while BLM was our QB, because of kemajic's pathetic attempt to disparage our program. This thread is testament to why most everyone considers a good portion of Griz fans to be pretentious douche bags. Teddybob and kemajic seem to have quite the refined taste for jizz.
