EWU's next Payton and NC winning QB?

I hope he does transfer to EWU. The harder our opponents are in regular season the sharper the griz claws are in post season.

Will take more than just a QB for EWU to be back in the NC though.

14 of our starters not getting injured would be a good start too. :thumb:

That reminds me of the last time I went to a EWU game in Spokane-Joe Albi. As it turned out, the only cool thing about that game - Montana had 10K+ fans and EWU might have had 7K.
It was the second to last game of the season and MT had lost 11 starters by that point in the season. We still had a good team, but not like we were at the beginning of the year when we were pretty much dominating everyone including a decent Idaho team in Moscow. We also lost the next week to a weak msu team that we would have beat by 40 with a healthy team.

Injuries do affect a team and certainly hurt EW this past year.

I said Payton winning and NC winning QB, not semifinal or NC losing QB... :thumb:
It should not be so hard to replace a QB who last led you to a sterling 6-5.

He had more playoff wins than all of UMs QBs combined in the last two years. Oh, and a National Championship. So there's that. I guarantee if UM had lost 14 starters to injury last year, they would've finished a lot worse than 6-5. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
We had that many (including the starting senior QB) in 2010 and finished 7-4, our worst effort in 18 years. Your "guarantee" - seriously?

Hmmm. I'd becareful making that analogy if I were an ewooo fan. The only reason you won the conference, beat the Griz, and ultimately won the NC is because of the ridiculous number of injuries the Griz sustained two years ago. Take those away, and it would have been business as usual in the BSC.

Yeah, you're right. The Griz would've rolled through two straight CAA foes like they always do, especially in the NC game. :thumb:

Classic post by a fan from any other program in the BSC.

See, in order to lose 7 national title games, you've got to get to a minimum of seven national title games. Ewooooo got to one and won it (with a ton of help from the officials in TWO games). Congratulations, that's a hell of an accomplishment. Wake me when you've at least sniffed half a dozen title games. Then we can compare the size of our dongs.

It's not the size, it's how you use it. :thumb:

I said STARTERS, not half starters. All-American starters. All but one OLinemen starters. Douche. Not to mention one of those 7 wins was against a garbage D-II, so really the Griz went 5-4 against FCS competition. EWU went 6-4 against FCS competition.

Andrew Selle started every game and took the Griz to the NC game in '09. He threw for over 3000 yards with a comp. % of 63% and 28 TDs vs. 6 picks. Backup Justin Roper threw for over 900 yards and was never a starter. Backups on 14-2 teams get playing time. Selle was lost for the season early in '10 after playing hurt. He was far from the only Griz starter lost in '10. Try to keep your facts straight.

Everyone gets injuries. You act as if Montana winning the Big Sky 17 years running was done without serious injury years. It tests your depth; when you don't have it, you have trouble playing .500. When you have it, you hang in there and win 7 or 8. Winning no more than 6 in '11 was not unusual for EWU; it was the fifth time in 10 years. You have to go back to '92 to find a year the Griz won only 6.

It might be over your head, but isn't 7-1 = 6?

Keeping the avid conversation going about http://smumustangs.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/padron_kyle00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; since http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/29/smu-gives-qb-kyle-padron-a-release-from-his-scholarship/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it seems surprising to think that not one but two characters out of the State of Texas would even know about the State of Washington to begin with and where it is on the map. I mean, that's really pushing your luck there, guy.

I don't think anyone has lost 7 NC games. UM has played in 7, but lost only 5.

Hmmm. How many times has EWU gone into a CAA house and kicked butt like the Griz did to #1 ranked JMU in the '08 semis? I'll save you the research effort; never.

I was thinking you guys played an FBS game and fucked up the numbers in my head. Blow me.

Regardless, the last two years, both UM and EWU have gone 6-4 against FCS competition while sustaining a large number of injuries one year, and made a run in the playoffs the other year. Except EWU won a NC while beating two CAA teams, something the Griz rarely do. My point was that it's pretty pathetic and douchey on kemajic's part to disparage BLM for a 6-4 FCS season when the Griz did exactly the same the year prior, especially given that BLM led EWU to a NC. Hey pot, you're black.

You're right. However, we've never lost to them in our own house either. Or at all for that matter.

Yeah, this guy is an idiot troll. He would have been fine if he would have stuck to just posting the info, but trying to rebutt every argument and trying to put the Griz and the Eags on the same level is asinine. One good year and all of a sudden the same level? No sir. Don't feed this troll, let him continue to justify the 6-5 falloff after the one good year

How dare he compare EWU to the mighty Griz, doesn't he know we're the greatest thing since handjobs in Reds bathroom!? Bow down before us, blah blah blahbitty blah blah!

The rebuttal was to kemajic's asinine comment regarding BLM and last year's 6-5 record, despite all the injuries and BLM winning the Payton and a NC. I'm sorry you're on your period too, and I hope you stop bleeding soon. Have a nice day.

Now, now SE. Just calm down a little. Take a deep breath. Drink a 4-LOKO and relax.

Payton and Buchanan Awards only count if it's a Griz player that wins them.

If it weren't for a gift spot on the 22 on 4th down The Eagles would have been the runner up. If it weren't for a blown call on the NDSU running back the Eagles wouldn't have advanced beyond the quarter finals. I wouldn't crow too much about a championship game won with help from the officiating crews.
