ewu cashed the check right? That includes passes on fourth and long.EWURanger29 said:Re/MaxGriz said:That turnover on downs should do it.
EWU should be fairly confident though coming out of this, I mean take away just flubbing the first two drives (big kickoff return, quick NV TD, 3 and out with a 10 yard punt, another quick NV TD) and this is a ball game the whole way.
EWU's going to be firing on all cylinders come the Griz game after next week's tune-up against C Wash over in Seattle.
I thought it was pretty weak that Nevada threw it on 4th and 15 for that last TD. But hey, I guess that they have to make it look like they dominated us......which they didn't. I think we'll be alright in the BSC, anyway. :thumb:

Both of these teams stink.
Whatever, dude. Seriously, have you ever been right about anything?
Harm said:I'm forgetting, so remind me how far EWU went in the play-offs last year with all of their talent, including Jones?? I can't seem to remember how they did in the play-offs.... :thumb:
"Whatever dude." Pffft. Good response.
What was I wrong about? I'm sorry, you didn't get blownout? Nevada's defense isn't swiss cheese? EWU's defense isn't swiss cheese?
Typical EWU team, can't finish for crap and yet their fans think because they played well into the third quarter it means they won.
You guys got doubled over by a pretty suspect Nevada team.
This is the Griz board you know. Don't go looking for compliments here. I'll give you one though, Jones looked good against Nevada's crappy D. Unfortunatly he's your entire offense.
EWURanger29 said:Yeah, "whatever". No one's fishing for compliments, guy. And no one thinks that we won....but the game was much closer than the score indicated - if you can't see that then I don't know what to tell ya.
Jones isn't our entire offense, but keep thinking that - and keep under-estimating us. I welcome it. :thumb:
49 points and 553 yards allowed is a pretty good EWU defensive effort.EWURanger29 said:Unfortunately, Mitchell isn't looking too spectacular in this opening game. He's had several wide open receivers that he's missed. I don't know if it's just first game nerves, but he just isn't on the same page as his receivers. Taiwan is Taiwan and will make big plays on anyone, but our special teams and that turnover lost us the game. Our defense actually hasn't played too bad, especially in the second half.

The game was closer than the score indicated? You didn't lead any of the stats cats that matter. They killed you on TOP, rushing yards, passing yards, 3rd down coversions, and they punted few time than you. You were trying to blame turnovers, there were only two turnovers and one was the second to last play of the game. They even had almost THREE times as many penalty yards as you. You guys got waxed, clean and simple.
As far as Jones not being your entire offense, he led you in recieving, rushing, and special teams yards.
Quit fooling yourself. Jesus.
How many times have we heard that?EWURanger29 said:but the game was much closer than the score indicated

Yes those things build confidence. Their defense sucks, as usual. The Griz will cut them to shreds.Re/MaxGriz said:That turnover on downs should do it.

You're just boring me now. Yes, our poor special teams play did hurt us badly early in the game. The turn-over I was referring to happened during a critical time of the game. If that hadn't happened and we continued driving on them (as we had the previous 2 times we had the ball) it would have been a three point game, and who knows what could have happened. The last TD they got passing on 4th and 15......so again, the score wasn't really indicative of how the game played out.
You are a walking double-standard. You say Nevada is crap, yet they are consistently the runner up in the WAC. Hmm, from what I have gathered from my occasional browsing of egriz, you are one of the biggest proponents of Montana moving to the WAC. So if Nevada is crap..........what does that say about the WAC, and what exactly are you trying to espouse in relation to your grand "move-up" dreams?
I'm willing to give credit where credit is due, and I've consistently given Montana respect in the past. What's more, if we turn out to be as over-rated as you say, I'll be the first to admit it - but you're the kind of guy that can't give even the smallest amount of respect to another Big Sky school. I mean, we could beat you guys by 3 td's this year, and you'd still come out with some excuse or reason for why we didn't earn it. You're an embarrassment to Griz fans.
What's more, you're acting like Montana would have come out and rolled Nevada. Do you not realize that they had the number one offense in FBS last year? However "swiss cheese" their defense might be, they are still a pretty damn good team - don't be so sure that Montana would have done any better.
But hey, like I said...........think what you want. I guess we'll find out September 18th, huh? :thumb:
