...there is no doubt a overwhelming feeling of sadness... for the alleged victim, for this young man who may have not only thrown away his football future but his future, for their families who will both grieve in different ways, and yes, for our football program for the loss of talent, yes, but also for the inevitable poor association it brings to the team of mostly fine young men. I fervently hope that our fan base conducts itself in a dignified way when this inevitably hits the fan forums (see eGriz posters for examples of how not to act). My prayers go to the victim for her recovery and peace. To Coach Baldwin and his staff in that they find the wisdom and strength to guide the team and make informed decisions regarding these matters. To Dalis Bruce that you seek God's strength and forgiveness to see you through this literal trial and its aftermath.

He was our prized recruit from this year's class to be sure, but we're also pretty well set at WR. That's neither here nor there.
It's an unfortunate event for all parties involved. Both he and the girl's lives are ruined, along with their families. I'll defer to HannahO, as she said it a lot more eloquently than I can:

This is sad. I certainly am not going to defend him or her. Even harder, she is only 17! There is no way to spin this one, or JJ's case of being positive for either party, their families, and their lives. IF, there is something positive to come from these misfortunes, I hope some young people (males and females) become more aware of what can happen, when you make dumb decisions. For any parent struggling with their teenager about what can happen, please show them these incidents. I hope some teenagers/young adults will wake up to reality, and learn through these hardships. The "that cannot happen to me" attitude has to be changed to "It can happen to you!"
As for Hannah, don't paint all of GRIZNATION with the same brush because of the minority. To be honest, for the most part, GRIZNATION has been pretty understanding of the recent case. If, she feels some fans taking JJ's side, or even the accuser's side, this is America and we have the right to take sides. Egrizzers have pointed out both sides of the nasty JJ case. I find nothing wrong with either side stating what they think. With that said, I do believe the prosecution has a lot to overcome.
AS for this new EWU case, I hope it is settled more timely. I do think it will be more tame, simply because the girl is a minor, and she should be more protected than JJ's accuser has been. (which by the way, I think what has been made available to the public, is not right.)

If the way you have acted is dignified, this post is worthless.

Isn't that the truth. Sreamin' has had a lot of fun snickering, pointing fingers, making posters, etc. at the Griz. It's sad that it has to happen in your backyard to develop a sense of couth.

Both of them are simply the accounts of each party, presented to best support their case. It's unfortunate for all parties involved, and hopefully the courts will be able to discover the truth of the matter. Until then it's all just biased, speculative BS. :twocents:
