Evans leaving UM

Only surprise about this is that it didn't happen earlier. Evans is obviously a defensive wunderkind and pure head coach material. Congrats to him. We were lucky to have him and his impact on Tinkle will last far beyond his presence here.

The only real question is, will he be able to coach through the tourney and into the NCAA's if we make it???

or through the NIT's (worst-case) - I sure hope so regardless.

Has Tinkle accepted his resignation as Griz BB assistant coach? I think he will coach UM - as long as he and Wayne are on the same wavelength.

Congratulations to Coach Evans. Certainly well-deserved.

And kudos to ISU for having the class to wait until the BSC tournament is over to announce the hiring.

Let's hope that Coach Evans has at least 4 or 5 more games on the sidelines with the GRIZ before moving on!! :thumb:

Congrats to Coach Evans, and Idaho State. I am bummed, he is leaving us. Praying, Tinkle waits a few more years before moving on. Great opportunities waiting for Metzger-Jones, and Owens. I honestly feel either would be great to take over the GRIZ whenever that time comes.

Congrats to Evans and all, but it must kind of suck to know as well as he surely does, that ISU has two certain losses next season. :)

Okay, well, maybe you can make sense of this.

We lost to San Francisco early in the season, right?

Not long after that, North Dakota State beat San Francisco on San Francisco's home floor.

And some time later, UND spanked NDSU. Which actually made me feel a little better about our loss to UND.

Griz do owe ISU a bit of a thank you for that win. Knowing that they essentially took home court away from Weber with that one win has to give them a little comfort. Heh.
