I just got this off of the ESPN Wire http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/gen/wire?messageId=9830965

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) _ The University of Montana said Thursday it has chosen a new head football coach to replace Joe Glenn and will make a formal announcement Friday.

Dave Guffey, sports information director, declined comment on reports from a Seattle radio station that Bobby Hauck, an assistant coach at Washington, had accepted the job.

``We'll make our announcement tomorrow,'' Guffey said.

KJR-Radio said Thursday that Hauck, a defensive backs coach for the Huskies, would take the head coaching job, reporting to Missoula sometime after the Huskies' Dec. 31 Sun Bowl game against Purdue.

Hauck, 37, was born in Missoula, played at Montana and began his coaching career there in 1988.

Montana is looking for a replacement for Glenn, who was hired Dec. 12 as head football coach at Wyoming. He coached three seasons at Montana, compiling a 39-6 record, including a national championship in 2001 and a second-place finish in 2000.

Hauck has been an assistant at Washington since 1999.

He is the brother of Tim Hauck, who played at Montana from 1987 to 1989. The San Francisco 49ers signed the safety earlier this month after he was released from Philadelphia, where he spent nearly four seasons.
