Former University of Montana men's basketball player Bryan Ellis has been accepted into the graduate school at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Ellis will be continuing his education in Howard's Urban Sociology program.

"Bryan is definitely one of the best success stories and one of many stories Grizzly Athletics is so privileged to share," Montana associate athletic director Jean Gee said. "The achievements of our student-athletes after they leave UM are what we are most proud of because it is confirmation that we are doing the right things.

"Bryan has been and will continue in his new role as graduate student to be an impressive representative of Grizzly Athletics and The University of Montana."

A native of Detroit, Mich., Ellis spent one season at both Butler (Kan.) Community College and Salt Lake Community College before playing his final two seasons with the Grizzlies.

The 5-10 guard, who played in 59 games over two seasons, was second on the team in assists (3.6/g) as a junior and led the team in both assists (4.2/g) and steals (1.5/g) as a senior.

Ellis graduated in May with a 3.6+ GPA as a sociology major.
