Eighth Grader rushes for 103yds 3 TD's in varsity game.

This is wrong on so many levels. The only reason this happened was because of the name.

As I suspected, this was a private school. This would never happen at a public school because most are 9-12 or 10-12, so an 8th grader won't even be at the same school. An 8th grader is not physically mature (not to mention emotionally mature enough) to handle the rigors of HS varsity football. Heck most who are old enough couldn't handle a cross-country trip, which shouldn't be happening until college anyway. I know San Diego schools traditionally play games in Hawai'i, but even that shouldn't be happening.

The school is wrong to do this, and his dad is wrong to allow it to happen. So what if the senior went down? What varsity coach worth his salt goes into the season with only one RB? Where are the juniors? Heck, where are the freshmen and sophomores? It's absolutely SICK that a middle-schooler should be taken advantage of in this fashion.

He'd better find a way to graduate a year early, or he's going to find himself ineligible his senior year.

Taken advantage of??? How so, he's got money even if he was Steve Erckle by virtue of daddy... his father knows what he's doing for more attention and the kid likes the limelight. He'll either shine or fizzle in the future.

14 is toooooo young to tell right now. The hype is no different than the female kickers on FB teams IMO. Hype is given to the unusual.
