I watched the entire game. Do you really think that NDSU ever thought that the outcome of the game was in doubt?

You don't think they were gripping JUUUUUUUST a little when we were on the 5 yard line about to make it 19-17 in the 4th quarter?

Totally. That was anybodys ballgame until late.

Yes, many NDSU fans, including some of my friends, were concerned when their team couldn't score TD's and couldn't take complete control of the game. They knew that it can be dangerous to let an opponent hang around and be within striking distance. They knew that a big play/turnover or two could have put UM right back in the game with a chance to win. The players and coaches knew the same thing. That's one of the reasons they continued to play very hard, not make mistakes, and not relax.

Two different or better or lucky plays would have put UM in a good position to win. Credit to NDSU. They played well and didn't make mistakes.

I agree with Hammer. You either didn't watch the game, or you don't understand the game. Maybe both.

Sure PR. What ever you said....maybe if you played at a higher level, someone would respect your opinion, The OMBAC boys and I are still waiting for your invitation.....LOL.

This is laughable. As an attorney, I would figure you would understand logic. I live in Fargo, talked to many fans, have watched the game three times, and each time it further away from being close. You can use your "ifs"; one big play, one turnover. What "if" the Bison scored TDs instead of field goals on those drives, now it is a blow out. Every play can be an if. 9 first downs for the Griz, and they gave up 450+ yards, and 40 minutes to 20 minutes in TOP. What part of the game did the Griz win? Go ahead people, the stats don't matter just the score. Yep you got beat, and beat soundly.

You have proved YOU DON"T understand the game. They moved the ball, getting field position and controlled the clock, in pure NDSU fashion. You see the Bison aren't about blowing people out, they are about winning games. They could have ran down the field and scored, even a field goal, stopped you, and did it again, but why? The game was in control, and the Griz posed no threat. If the Griz play the Bison in the playoffs it will be a slaughter. Wags, as phenomenal as he is, did he even play?

It was like fighting against Sugar Ray Leonard. The Bison didn't throw the knockout punch, but they jabbed the shit out of you. You don't have to be knocked out to be know you have been severely beaten. I am sorry it stings so much for you when you played your best game, and the other team was still a lot better.

You guys really need to quit lying to yourself.

I really wish to hell people like you would not post logic on this board - that way posters on egriz could live in denial forever. This board has become laughable quite frankly. Anyone who does not post a rosy portrayal of the program is lambasted, because good fans would never "say" something like that. Instead, we now have juice box, jock sniffing, player/coach stalking Mark Twain's on the board. I also forgot that they "all played the game". Hilarious - because football is rocket science people. No, you could not possibly know schemes, formations, plays, tendencies, strengths, weaknesses, etc. - unless you played the game. You should not even be allowed to go to the game or have an opinion - unless you played the game. Actually, that would be awesome. Only former college football players should be able to attend the games. Imagine the phenomenal attendance numbers. I find that "the keep it only positive" Egriz crowd is missing one key element of sports fandom. Something called opinions. Imagine sports talk radio without opinions- lets take Cowherd for instance. Imagine if he could only have positive critiques of teams, players, coaches, AD's, owners, etc. Holy hell boring and his show would have been done in 5 episodes. People do not log onto egriz so sweet nothings can be whispered into their ears. They are fans and as Cowherd states - fan stands for fanatics. So I say post away on egriz regardless of your opinion and don't be afraid to come back if someone calls you idiot, stupid or anything else that is negative - just because you had an opinion that differed from theirs. They can pound sand as far as I am concerned and the more posters - the better. Feel free to post positives about the players, coaches and team in general. I enjoy all of those posts and many times they are dead on accurate. Conversely, please refrain from posting sugar coated garbage all of the time - so I can stop throwing up every five minutes.

Nope. You prove time and time again that you are too biased, and probably without enough knowledge of the game, to look at situations objectively. In a game that is only a possession or two apart, and when the "better" team can't pull away from the its opponent, it is a close game by definition--and the opponent is within striking distance of being able to make the game very close or even win, with just a few more plays. No one is saying UM should have won, or deserved to win, but it is without doubt that UM was in striking distance until quite late in the game.

The game was 12-10 at halftime, and NDSU had not been able to score a TD--something that has occurred only a few times in recent years. The terrific pick in the end zone by NDSU late in the 3d quarter, on 3d and 5 from the 17, was big. UM's receiver Henderson often makes the play that NDSU made, by going up over the defender and making the catch. It could have been 19-17 then, and then it would have been a fairly even horse race to the finish line.

With that play, and just 1 or 2 more or different plays or breaks, UM would have been right there. Not saying UM would have won, but your denial that UM played NDSU well and was within striking distance in the second half, is completely ridiculous. You are the one who is in denial.

P.S. Just give us one play, at either of these times. When NDSU is driving for its TD in the 3d quarter, UM gets a pick 6 or a fumble return for TD. UM is then up 17-12. Or when NDSU is driving for its FG in the 4th quarter, UM gets a pick 6 or fumble return for TD. Score is 19-17 NDSU with plenty of time for UM to drive for a TD or FG. Regarding the first scenario, note that NDSU scored only 3 points after that. Had that played out, UM would have won 17-15.

Holy shit this almost premise is getting really old. I think we got here discussing the possibility of being 6-6. The argument against that is an almost win, which is a loss. Good to know that if we end up 6-6 it's a lot like 12-0 because if we just had lucky bounces we would have won. The winning team doesn't need to talk about almosts after the game just the losing team. Can we please knock this shit off. It's becoming pretty clear who knows about football and who acts like a 5 year old. Playing the game or not watching the game or not doesn't change the outcome. Can we get certain people to quit acting like a bunch of spoiled little better than you bit75es?

No. I don't.

Really? You've beaten a team like a rented mule up and down the field, dominated TOP, dominated in first downs, dominated in total yardage, and yet somehow, some way, they're on the verge of scoring a TD to pull within TWO points deep in the 4th quarter? A game that you should be up by 25 and you're suddenly about to only be up by TWO? If the Griz had scored there, the dome might have imploded.

Go back and read the game thread on Bisonville if you don't think NDSU-land was gripping like a motherfucker.

The most recent discussion in this thread evolved from this comment of Hammer, especially the first part of it. Hammer's comment was spot on. Yes, it is pretty clear who know football, and it is people like Hammer and not people like you.

" The Griz gave the 3 time defending natl champs all they wanted in their barn with a complete makeshift OL. That OL will get nothing but better as the season progresses. This team will get better as the season goes on. Have some f***[*] faith people!!!!!"
