You gotta wonder what happened to Eastern in their final 3 games. That road win they had at Weber to clinch the outright regular season title was super impressive, then they just completely fell off a cliff. It’s kind of amazing to be honest

Makes you wonder if a key player went out or was suddenly hampered by an injury. Have not heard anything like that, but it would be a plausible reason for such a collapse.

While they did have a record-setting year, they were never really destroying anyone. Their margin in conference was +7.8, which doesn't seem very high for a team that won 16 straight games. Sort of a reverse NAU. NAU had terrible luck all year until yesterday. EWU had pretty good luck until yesterday.

I believe this is correct. And with EWU gone, MSU’s path just got easier.
