Eastern Washington is still pissed about losing their game with us

I'm glad we don't have to play EWU every year now. It will help our playoff chances going forward. They have owned us of late with a 7-2 record and were likely beating us next season to go 8-2. Embarrassing but true. If/when we do play them it will be in the playoffs, if we get there. EWU is the class of the BSC having won 4 of 5 last championships. So, this can only help. By our scheduling we have proven we prefer softer schedules which will be softer with the swap of Idaho for EWU.

WTF does that mean? We've played UW, NDSU and UNI in the last two years, and Oregon next year, along wit UNI again. I swear to God, some people are just NEVER happy.

Montana was named by every other school in the league as a team they wanted as one of their two rivals (yes, that is an actual fact). That's the way it is when you're the top dog and the top gate draw.

They used to be the top draw. Not so much anymore.

You don't even troll well

The real story is how many grizzz fans are relieved, if not exultant, to get big brother off the schedule 2 years out of every 5. Bye Felicia.

Not the real fans - If we can't get back to whooping the Beagles 3 out of 4 years, then we need to find a coach that can.

San Diego was a playoff game. So, if you're counting those and going back that far, I counter with this (going back to 2012 season),

North Dakota State
UNI
Cal Poly
Liberty
UW
Wyoming
South Dakota
North Dakota State
Appalachian State
North Dakota
Coastal Carolina
South Dakota
Appalchain State
Liberty

And now we can add EWU as an OOC game in the years they're not on the schedule as a conference game. There is no room to bitch about "preferring softer schedules"...that's just complete bull.

First off, the Griz didn't schedule San Diego, the NCAA did. But thanks for playing. Secondly, EVERYBODY plays a cupcake once in a while. Those DII's you have on there, were a long ass time ago. The Griz haven't played a DII on their schedule in several years now and won't going forward either. Secondly, you obviously are a newer fan, otherwise you would remember the absolute cupcakes the Griz played in the Don Read days, the likes of mighty Carson-Newman, Minnesota-Duluth and New Mexico Highlands. Saint Francis, San Diego and Valpo would have blasted those teams by 30 points.

You also make it sound as if the Griz asked the Big Sky to remove EWU as their protected rival. If that's what you're implying, you are so far off base I can't help you. Idaho made it a demand for joining the Big Sky that Montana be one of its protected rivals. The conference conceded that to them. What the hell was Montana and the Big Sky supposed to do then? Drop Montana State from the Griz' schedule?? Come on man. Get a clue. The Griz are still going to play Eastern Washington, but it will now be up to the Big Sky's rotation, and isn't a given anymore. That's the conference we live in right now, and it's not Montana's fault, Kent Haslam's fault or Bob Stitt's fault. Actually, Kent and his staff have continued to put together amazing schedules the last few years and already have tons of great games on the books for the future.

One more thing, the Griz only had Valpo scheduled this season, but McNeese State cancelled a two-year deal with the Griz, and Kent was left with Savannah State. Man, do a little homework about your favorite team.

He'd rather be the "voice of reason" without any actual facts.

Excellent feedback and data. I stand corrected and was wrong. Thank you.

 Apparently they also needed a definition of the word "rivalry".

And strangely, the McNeese cancelation was a result of LIBERY moving up...there was some weird 3-way agreement between the three schools....when Liberty announced they were moving up instead of it just becoming a H/H with McNeese the whole deal was canceled. Very disappointing. As McNeese is a school i could actually drive to to watch my Griz.
