Early baseball impressions

I'm tired of people ragging on Bond's and steroids. The man has never failed a steriod/drug test. Did he take HGH and lie about taking it, more than likely, but HGH wasn't illegal to use in baseball when he was taking it. So in fairness to Bonds, he has never cheated in Baseball and when he breaks the record it will be legit.

People think that just because he used HGH is the reason he hits all the homeruns he hits. Don't forget he is one hell of a batter and still has to put good wood on the ball to make it sail so far. It takes more than just strength to hit a homerun.

I am also sick of Bonds being the only name mentioned when tons of these guys have done it. Someone please explain how Clemens body has gone back in time. He is doing things the last two years that he wasn't doing 8 years ago, the facts are there for anyone to see.

I agree that many others (Macguire, Giambi, Sosa and many more) have also surfaced in the steroids picture. And during some periods, the growth and performance enhancers were not even banned by baseball, so it's hard to condemn them for allegedly taking substances that were not illegal at the time.

I don't agree about Clemens though. In my book, the guy is simply amazing. He works out 4 hours a day, 3 to 5 times per week. Once his age started slowing him down, he started working harder. Heck, Nolan Ryan threw bullets at 46 until his arm basically exploded.

Brett Boone is definite steroid guy that kind of goes under the radar. he was sooo juiced.

On the HGH thing... sure it may not have been outlawed in baseball but it is ILLEGAL!! I think that should override the rules of baseball. "Well he shot the second baseman but i guess there's nothing in the rules that forbids that."

you may not think Clemens is on anything, but there are one hell of a lot of major leaguers that do, and I am not talking about just the ones who faced him. He is a hell of a pitcher, but I still think he has some help. The thing that would benefit him most is the quicker recovery time, which at his age is a major factor. Clemens was getting hirt a lot before his sudden resurgence, I think there is a link. I honestly don't care on way or the other becasue MLB is complicit in this. There are documents Faye Vincent and Bud Selig acknowledging the issue, but they never took any action.

Actually, HGH isn't illegal if perscribed by a doctor. HGH drugs do wonders and I bet it will be a very commonly used drug in the future.

It's pretty easy to get a prescription if you're an athlete these days. Doctors could easily prescribe HGH for an injury to an athlete no matter how minor the injury is and they could get away with it because the drug simply allows the body to heal faster. HGH can be used for multiple things and it would be very difficult for people to prove that the drug wasn't prescribed unnecessarily.

You must work at C.O.P? :thumb:

If they don't talk shit during your trip, I just might!

Being a life long Braves fans it's hard to get excited for them winning thier division every year and never winning more than one World Series.

They are MLB's version of Montana football.

Mariners and future = oxymoron

I'm not a huge M's fan either, but I saw 25-30 Mariner home games last year and the opening series this year, and I think they have one of the more promising young teams in baseball. Thier infield is young and plain filthy, especially Bettencourt and Lopez up the middle. Felix is gonna be nasty, as long as he doesn't screw his arm up a la Mark Prior. He's so young and gets better all the time. Putz is a good closer. They lost a lot of 1 run games last year, and they're alot better this year I think.

Not an M's fan, but love their stadium. One of the best. And the Garlic Fries are absolutely GREAT!!!
