Dumbest Scheduling Decision Ever at Big Sky Institution?

Sac State just apparently signed a 2 for 1 to play the Pioneer League's San Diego Toreros. Sounds like a decent decision right?

Umm... Sac State is the 1 -- they are signing on to play two games at 6,000 grass soccer focused Torero Stadium. No funds are transferring, so it sounds like Sac State took a second game at USD in lieu of payment for the game in Sacramento.

Is this the most embarrassing scheduling arrangement of any Big Sky school in history?

My vote is... yes.

The Griz could schedule a home-and-home with College of Idaho -- and THAT would make more sense than this.

Wow that's a bad deal. I can't find any upside in this for Sac. Do they play the first game and then opt out of the other two? There's got to be a buyout cause but nothing is mentioned to the article. Very weird.

Following in the footsteps of Cal Poly lol. They're going to USD this year. I think Davis went to an Diego a few years ago too

It is a money saver for the school because they are literally the only FCS Non-Conf school we can all play in our time zone... But still, going there twice serves no purpose.

We conclude our home and homes with Texas A&M Commerce and Nicholls State this year and start one with Lamar last year. The one we had with UNI was a step in the right direction, but apparently Valley schools don't want to play in the Sacramento heat at the start of the year (that opposing sideline is directly facing the sun, which sets in the 1st quarter of our night games to start the year, the on field temp is usually 100+)

This is going to sound snarky but I honestly don't mean it that way. Montana's scheduling is definitely open to criticism, but this is one decision that our AD would never ever make. We make too much money on home games.

This would be analogous to Oregon scheduling a two for one with Tulsa, and traveling twice to the great state of Oklahoma.

Maybe San Diego has a high interest for recruiting purposes ... Gotta get your in-state kids from somewhere...

Nah, because Sac is no Oregon. Sac is like the Tulsa, there just isn't a San Diego for the comparison.
Well no one in the bsc besides UM (ans to much lesser degree msu) is a comp to Oregon financially. But if you think about rankings, Sac is Oregon. It's just that UM is the only bsc program (#bsc) who doesn't need to sell its soul to survive, which is reason number 11,822,819,070,235,888,126 the GRIZ do not belong at this level
