Do you believe in miracles????

So last night with about 20 seconds left in the Griz BBall game the play by play guy on Big Sky TV says the "Griz are going to win this, do you believe in miricales!"

Can someone get ahold of that bonehead and explain that:

1- The Griz were probably the favorite last night.
&
2- That quote should never be used again. It was probably the greatest single quote about a sports event in history. To compare the Griz beating Oregon State to the USA college guys beating Russia in the 1980 Olympics is simply stupid!!!!

Payton: You're reading what little of my mind is left. The man-child voice of online Griz ball needs to get a grip. And the "jam-packed stadium" was about 3,200 fans short of a sellout. In addition to the nonstop hyperbole be continually referred to a OSU player as Agnes Brandt - not Angus. I also wish he'd park the overworked verb (that has players) "dancing" which he brought with him from the football season. (Dancing in the sports world is akin to treading water. Not good) The kid should limit his radio activity to listening to it - not being on it. His school girl histrionics are a major distraction.

He has a long way to go. He is young and will learn. Got to give him an A for his passion and exuberance though. No matter who does the games, Mick will always be "THE VOICE of the GRIZ" for GRIZNATION.

Maybe he could practice in his dorm room using a hair brush for a microphone until he's ready for prime time?

you guys are brutal. its a commentator, probably a student, on a free tv service, plus I'd like to see any one of you guys do any better. if you really don't like it then get off your fat asses and go to the game..

I have done PBP, and yes, I was better...and I can get off my not-so-fat ass, but I'd still be in Denver.
I also have a much higher amusement threshhold than our boy 5700. Boom goes the toilet lid. Wife hates when I leave it up.

He really said that?

This miraculous win puts UM in the elite company of dynasties like Seattle, Texas Southern, Utah Valley, and Colorado, that have conquered Oregon State this year. Who would have known that OSU would have been able to rebound from a 6-25, winless Pac-10 season a couple years ago to become such an unstoppable force in 2010.

Well, like our football coach, he is learning on the job and deserves a break...after all, it is a free service. His "exuberance is over the top, but if he learns how to tone it down and just accept that a 3 pt basket is not a miracle, and a win over a bottom feeder in the Pac 10 is not a miracle but evidence that UM would not be a bottom team in the top conference in the West, he will ok....after a while, I was kinda smiling...hard to believe anyone could be so young and exuberant....he'll learn and his voice will drop a notch...

Jeez, give the kid a break. I like his enthusiasm. You know he's nervous and doing the best he can. He will get much better as he develops his own style. Most of you would have been bitching if youi heard "down the pickle barrell" for the first time.

I cringe everytime I hear that...firstly, it makes no sense, and secondly, the imagery is not clear...Why use verbal gimmicks at all?
