Do the Griz trade poll position with the kittens?

Maybe on the coaches poll. I doubt they do on the press poll though--they don't usually get into the nitty gritty of quality of wins/losses.

In NASCAR pole position isn’t as important as who takes the checkered flag.

Are you a cat fan. This is a statement that someone that is scared of losing would make.

Just keep winning and the polls will resolve themselves.

Totally agree. These polls mean next to nothing. You guys can “jump” Weber, MSU and whoever else. Hell, “jump” NDSU! The team that keeps winning in November and December will be just fine.

The teams that are winning in December are usually playing at home that's why these polls are actually important to some extent. Home field in Missoula is a big deal come play off time. I know you are a Cat fan and have no clue whatsoever about cold and loud come December.

Think I’ve seen some voters say they’ve done this, Craig Haley I think was one.

I voted Montana No. 4 this week, ahead of Weber State and Montana State. The Griz have been the most impressive team in the Big Sky so far this season. I don't have Kennesaw State in my top 14. Dropped Eastern Washington and UC Davis out of the top 25.

Neither did Coastal Carolina. That cold just shut them down.

Im fine with just hanging back where we are...lot the Kittens get all the hype.....also..I dont think they move down after a win...albeit a shitty win.

This is basically it.....whatever you can do now to keep you from going to Fargo in the playoffs is a huge deal.

Nor did it when Sam Houston St. stomped your butts in Blowzman a few years back. If you don't think home field in the playoffs is a big deal I don't know what to tell you. I will just disagree with you.

The games themselves are important, the polls, not so much. The committee looks at each team's resume as a whole when deciding where (or if) to seed them, not where they end up ranked by the media.

The polls are, let's face it, mostly for us to talk about ... which is good because some people just like to bitch and it's better to complain about the polls than be throwing dirt at the players or coaches.

And, if you're interested in FCS as a whole, the polls (and I do mean multiple ratings) at least point out other teams around the country that are doing well. So, they save us all some work. :)

Home field is an obvious advantage in the playoffs. It’s the use of it being cold is an advantage for a win no longer holds. SHSU and Coastal Carolina both showed that doesn’t matter anymore.

So you're saying the loud part still makes a difference? Good to know. ;)

I will take a Southland team in Missoula during the months of November and December any year. The cold and elevation do help in my opinion as well as the 20 plus thousand fans. The Griz started the season off against Sam Houston in 2004 and got blown out of the water. They had to come to Missoula in December and the Griz blew their doors off. They Had Josh Mccown as their quarterback. That was the last game the fans tore down the goal posts

Boy was that a fun game to be at, remember it fondly.

GO GRIZ

I was at the SFA game in ‘09. THAT was a fun one. They were beaten into submission by halftime!

Can't see a lot to disagree with our rank. Davis was a pretender and the gut part of the schedule starts with Eastern. Cats don't have a qb again and are overrated. It will catch up with them eventually.
