The teams that are winning in December are usually playing at home that's why these polls are actually important to some extent. Home field in Missoula is a big deal come play off time. I know you are a Cat fan and have no clue whatsoever about cold and loud come December.ilovethecats said:Maxim said:Just keep winning and the polls will resolve themselves.
Totally agree. These polls mean next to nothing. You guys can “jump” Weber, MSU and whoever else. Hell, “jump” NDSU! The team that keeps winning in November and December will be just fine.

I voted Montana No. 4 this week, ahead of Weber State and Montana State. The Griz have been the most impressive team in the Big Sky so far this season. I don't have Kennesaw State in my top 14. Dropped Eastern Washington and UC Davis out of the top 25.
Neither did Coastal Carolina. That cold just shut them down. :lol:grizaremoregooder said:The teams that are winning in December are usually playing at home that's why these polls are actually important to some extent. Nor did it when Sam Houston St. stomped your butts in Blowzman a few years back. If you don't think home field in the playoffs is a big deal I don't know what to tell you. I will just disagree with you.exppi said:Neither did Coastal Carolina. The polls are, let's face it, mostly for us to talk about ... which is good because some people just like to bitch and it's better to complain about the polls than be throwing dirt at the players or coaches.Htowngriz said:The games themselves are important, the polls, not so much. The committee looks at each team's resume as a whole when deciding where (or if) to seed them, not where they end up ranked by the media.grizaremoregooder said:The teams that are winning in December are usually playing at home that's why these polls are actually important to some extent. Home field is an obvious advantage in the playoffs. It’s the use of it being cold is an advantage for a win no longer holds. SHSU and Coastal Carolina both showed that doesn’t matter anymore.grizaremoregooder said:Nor did it when Sam Houston St. stomped your butts in Blowzman a few years back. I will take a Southland team in Missoula during the months of November and December any year. The cold and elevation do help in my opinion as well as the 20 plus thousand fans. The Griz started the season off against Sam Houston in 2004 and got blown out of the water. They had to come to Missoula in December and the Griz blew their doors off. They Had Josh Mccown as their quarterback. That was the last game the fans tore down the goal postsexppi said:Home field is an obvious advantage in the playoffs.
