Do the Griz need to be the Mecca?

With the coach bk’s approach, it appears that the football team is embracing something that the rest of the university truly values, creativity. I’m delighted that we now have a coach who embodies the spirit and essence of Missoula and the student body. I think it's a strong juxtaposition the assholes over in bozeman. Let them be the Mecca, Let Missoula be the fun school that kicks their ass.

I think it’s cool to be leaning into creativity and it is going be popular with students and recruits. We should still be celebrating traditions as well. I have always felt that college football programs that go all in on creativity while embracing limited tradition like Oregon is doing so because they don’t have the tradition to celebrate.

Griz fans come to WGS because it IS the Mecca of FCS Football. However, there is no need to walk around the stadium seven times, counter clockwise, unlike the Kaaba. Mecca is a PLACE. WGS is a PLACE. Griiz are not a place. If Griz were the Mecca, everywhere they played would be Mecca. Idaho State, Portland, NoCo, even Bozo.
