Division I Seating for Basketball Games

The bottom line to me is that if the seats immediately behind the opposing team's bench are reserved for fans of that school--as is done at UND--you don't have anywhere near these kinds of problems. If somebody is heckling you from 50 or 100 feet away, that's one thing. But when that person is 5-10 feet away and practically in the coach's face, it's a little different. I imagine if a large group of UND students were sitting 5 feet behind Amy Ruley, things would get pretty ugly, too. Fortunately, UND reserves that section for fans of the visiting team. I don't think it's too much to ask for NDSU to do the same.

We have Bison students sitting behind the visiting teams bench. There was a verbal/touching confrontation etc between the UND coaches and Bison Fans last weekend. We at NDSU get a lot of complaints from the school to our north. What is the seating like at Montana and other Division I venues for visiting schools.

I beleive the griz also give seats behind the visitors bench to visiting teams fans. Right now just getting people to the games is the tough part, the b-ball attendance has been down the last few years. That is all about to cahnge cause the 2005 team could be one of the best griz teams ever!Next years team should also be tough.

Hey bisonmav is the mav in that part of your last name?

Some of the UND fans feel having the students so close to the opposing teams bench, and the problems that arise from this setup, will hurt NDSU's chances of joining a conference.

Mav is not part of my name.
