It sounds like Paige Lofing will be a Griz. This is quite a recruiting win by Nate and his staff if so. That girl was an absolute stud in high school for Huntley. Gatorade player of the year, her senior year and put her team on her back and won the state title. She was unstoppable in Missoula and that was including against Baker with the O’Connor sister studs who are going to be cats. No one had an answer for her.

I’ve heard rumors but I don’t think I know enough to speculate or share. Small town stuff. They have gone through a lot of boys basketball coaches over the years even with the success they’ve had. Girls hoops was kinda an afterthought there because volleyball was winning multiple state championships. Iona Stookey is arguably the best high school volleyball coach ever in Montana. And the good girl athletes spent their time emphasizing that sport at Huntley. Mandy did a good job there but Lofing was just so good that others gravitated to her and she made them all better and enthusiastic about hoops. That perspective is from a friend that is an AD in their conference as we were watching state tournament last year.

I watched that title game. Lofing like a deadly sleuth against an O'Connor not quite as stealthy, at that time. I can't wait to see them play for Montana teams AND as opponents again. Go Griz!
 
Milan is gonna be good. She literally practices every day. And gets one on one training from some of the best. Will be interesting to see how she develops and grows.

Well, whatever is happening in HP, it sure didn’t lead to good results for the boys team this year. Yeesh.
