They sure did! For the first time since 2019!This has been brewing for a while as Doug Fraley and his staff have been continually recruiting lights out, bringing in several of the top athletes from MT and across the region. We were close last year to knocking them off, and this year we finally surpassed them! The cool thing too is we had a few Men's athletes underachieve over the weekend and we still beat them. If the Men's Javelin throwers would have swept the podium like they were projected to, and Karson Beitz would've won the 100m, then we could've blown them out. Same with the 4x400m relay if we could've just leaned out a little more over NAU.
It's important to point out that next year's Big Sky championships will be held in Missoula at Dornblaser, so next year is the year to really go for it and hopefully just bury the cats! Wins were hard to come by against the neighbors this year, but this one is gonna sting for them as they have heavily invested in T&F and have become a prominent power. Doug Fraley has been an absolute god send for this program!
