depth chart 2014

wrs - henderson, walcott, jones. backed by saylor, haynes, naccarato.
tes - harper, richards. backed by scarver, ralston.
ol - poole, hines, hines, weyer, schmaing. todd, ditreich, kalekini.
qb - j.j., ssh, gus
rb - canada, van, counts.

de - wags, holmes. crittenden.
dt - kidder, takai. ginn.
lb - vanackeran, lebsock, owen. kose, schey.
cb - dennard, harris. nelson.
s - hermanson, gamboa. whitted, dellaserra.

we return 12 starters. 7 on offense, 5 on defense.
 
There's lots of holes in this. You include Schey, Scarver and Ralston but not guys like McKinley, Simis, Favors, Rodgers or Strahm? You're missing Nguyen even though I believe he had more yards than Counts.

mckinley plays corner, which is tough to get playing time in second year. simis is at least fourth on the depth chart and that's too deep, plus we're going big at q.b. after jordy leaves. counts was injured and logging more time than nguyen. i know it isn't perfect, but roughly correct.

Simis is going to be starting over Gustafson, barring a major coaching change and complete change in philosophy.
 
It will be interesting to see if we bring in any transfers. We had 3 guys this year who had an immediate impact and solid years, in Jones, Van, and Wilson. All three of them were a huge asset to the offense. Not likely, but if we could bring in 3 guys of their caliber on the defense for next year that would be very helpful.
