DePaul Fans...

Post your comments about Kennedy and let us know how you feel. Give us some info about the coach!! Thanks

Guys, I don't know how to put this but you just kissed your basketball program good-bye.

Pat Kennedy is the worst excuse for a teacher, leader, disciplinarian and coach probably in the history of college basketball.

We just went through five absolute years of hell at DePaul-- teams with no structure, offense, defense, rebounding or cohesiveness.

DePaul has been the nation's biggest embarrassment over the past three years. We've had three NBA players the past three years and have won a total of 15 games against D-1 opponents and a total of about 5 conference games.

We did make the tournament in 2000 but struggled to a 9 seed and lost in the first round. That team started FOUR NBA players-- Quentin Richardson, Bobby Simmons, Steve Hunter and Paul McPherson!!! And that team was lucky to make the tournament.

In terms of conference play-- against Cincinnati, Marquette, Louisville-- Kennedy was 6-43 during his career.

Kennedy's kids don't go to class-- we've had about 10 academic suspensions over the past three seasons. His teams don't play hard and they absolutely do not have a clue on the defensive end. It's a running joke that someone always has a career high against DePaul. It's not even a joke really-- it damn near always happens.

DePaul's fan base deteriorated to nothing over the past few seasons. Both Chicago papers stopped sending reporters on the road to cover the team (that hasn't happened since 1975). Fans organized a much-publicized walk-out during a game this season to help aid the the dismissal of Kennedy.

Don't let your administration fool ya. Kennedy WAS fired-- that's a fact.

Personally, he's a fat, bullshiiting, drunk who lies out his asss. He also doesn't give to craps about his players-- this coming from DePaul players themselves.

We're also organizing a party to celebrate Kennedy's dismissal. Fans are flying in from all over the country to partake.

My guess is your AD just brought an old drinking buddy to Montana.

God bless.

Call the newspapers, the TV stations and the radio sports guys across your state and complain about the incredibly stupid move by your AD. Put media pressure on now before Pat Kennedy actually signs a contract.

Remember, he's the only coach or manager of a collegiate or professional sports team in American history to cause a fan walkout in protest of his capabilities.

Early this February, 100 ticket holding patrons of the DePaul/ East Carolina game walked out en masse. It was reported in newspapers and on television stations across the country. DePaul officials were so embarrassed that PK's "resignation" soon followed the season's end.

Also, be aware that DePaul's conference record was so bad that we were one of two teams that didn't qualify for our own conference tournament.

Don't beleive his nonsense about losing players to the NBA. Two of the five had warned him well in advance. A third was only a part time player. He didn't improve 'til he got himself a full time trainer. A fourth was an academic washout. The final guy, Eddie Curry, went pro out of high school because DePaul wouldn't let him out of his letter of intent. He saw how little progress other high school stars made at DePaul, and he wanted no part of it.

If any of your reporters want further info, have them post a message on the DePaul board tonight, and they'll have a full plate tomorrow morning.

My deepest sympathies on the death of the Montana basketball program if your AD hires Pat Kennedy, as has been reported today on ESPN.com. I am one of the many DePaul fans who had to suffer through five years of underachievement, disappointment and humiliation under this so-called coach. When Kennedy was hired by DePaul five years ago, we were deluged with messages from the Florida State fans who tried to warn us that DePaul would never go anywhere under Kennedy. We doubted them at first, but Boy did they turn out to be right!

You see, Mr. Kennedy is like a politician or a used car salesman. He talks a good game and tells you everything you want to hear. But after a while, you realize it's all B.S. There's no end to the excuses that this guy comes up with to try to hide the fact that he's a HORRIBLE coach. His teams that did well at Florida State did so mainly on an overwhelming abundance of NBA-level talent and guards who were smarter than their coach. Although you may initially see the appearance of improvement by virtue of Kennedy's ability to recruit, you will soon be disappointed with the results in the win/loss column.

We here at DePaul hate to be the bearers of bad news, but it's better that you find out now what you're in for. The sooner you know, the sooner you can start trying to get rid of this guy!

Good luck on finding your replacement for Kennedy in a couple of years!

This is definitely the good ole boy network at work. Kennedy is a firm believer in nepotism. Look for Kennedy to bring in his lame nephew - Brian Kennedy as an assistant coach. The AP is reporting that his son Joey will enroll at Montana in the fall. He will probably try to put his kid on the team.

We DePaul fans have suffered through 5 terrible years. What really brings out the hatred of Kennedy wasn't his losing record, but rather his inability to tell the truth. The man has no integrity. He lies at every opportunity. I guarantee you his press conference will be filled with one lie on top of another.

I understand the Montana State Bobcat fans are thrilled with the hire. That ought to tell you something.

Sorry Grizzly hoops fans, but you have some grizzly years ahead.

I'll take the moderate approach and say that he is a very good recruiter and especially in his first two years, improved the talent level immensely. Of course the talent level was at rock bottom to begin with, so it wouldn't have been that hard to improve. In his 5 years he's signed numerous consensus top-100 players (Q Richardson, Bobby Simmons, Lance Williams, Steven Hunter, George Baker, Imari Sawyer, Andre Brown, Levar Seals, Quemont Greer) plus top 20 JCs Paul McPherson and Sam Hoskin. Also at FSU remember he brought in Charlie Ward, Bobby Sura, Sam Cassell, etc. as well.

However, where he fails is is at X's and O's. He is simply disorganized and a bad strategist. He brought in former LA Clipper coach Jim Todd, a noted X's and O's coach in as an assistant coach this year, but apparently he didn't turn enough of the offense over to him to make much of a difference.

Now that he's at a non-elite conference, the hope for you guys is that he can bring in enough talent such that it doesn't matter if he sucks as a coach, that talent alone can win a lot of ball games for you.
