Demings joining Illinois State football team

No. But I’m wondering how many other folks don’t come here or don’t stay because of limitations in class offering times. Given the enrollment issues, you’d think they’d be bending over backwards in an effort to keep students. But hey, what do I know....

You do realize that every school has limitations in regards to class offerings. This isn't just a UM thing. Most kids that go to an institution of higher learning have that as there priority, so they work around it. Athletes have both academics and athletics to balance, and sometimes they conflict.

Every student has a faculty advisor. Practice times for UM athletes are published. My faculty advisor back in the day was also an advocate for me within the U and when looking at grad schools. Finding a solution to keep these athletes here without harming other students should have been a no brainer to their advisor(s) if on the ball, and an easy fix. Either we are not getting the full story, or their advisors were not active in their education goals. Sounds like it might just be faculty apathy (or reverse special treatment) when it comes to athletes.

So if you don’t know then why are you throwing the faculty under the bus? Do you hate the U for some reason? What if they (twins) just decided to move on, would that still be the faculties’ fault.

I'm paid to read tea leaves. Plenty of reports of faculty dislike of football program if you pay any attention. Yet I chose apathy as the possibility. Your gasligting goes nowhere with me. Guess the complementing of my advisor went right over your head. But you're young. I can wait for you to mature.

Correct if I'm wrong, but, I believe this is the same field Derek Crittenden pursued. He had to move on to get his Masters/ advanced degree. Why should this be held against the Demings or U of M?

Crittenden got a masters in bioengineering at Penn, after he was done playing football for the Griz. Works for Medtronic now in Conn. Product development. Had a one-season stint on the US Bobsled Team, on the USA 3, the 3d team. All according to a gogriz interview I just looked at.

I don't think anyone is holding anything against the Demings, although a few of us find it to be a curious move (i.e. leaving the Griz early to play for another team).

Thanks
Another issue I didn't consider before posting is that Crittenden had used his eligibility before moving on. Are you supposed to "think it through" before posting on E-Griz? :D
