We should all try to get him to transfer to Montana.

Here me out.

1) 4 star recruit out of high school.

2) After promises made by Michigan to be a starting first year wide receiver, it didn't happen. But, they burned his red shirt anyways making him play special teams.

3) Suffered an injury this year but is now healthy again.

4) He is still not given a chance at wide receiver though he is the fastest person on Michigan's squad.

5) He is still relegated to special teams.

6) Mother's side of the family lived in Missoula for years (his mom is my wife's first cousin). His immediate family moved to Ann Arbor to be with him. But I know they would move back.

I personally feel like he could do better for himself somewhere else. Why not Montana? The problem is he is getting enough money from the fans to keep him at Michigan. His goal is the NFL. Shoot, he has been recruited since the 7th grade. But, how is he going to get to the NFL if Michigan will never play him?

Note. Although I know his mom and all of his brothers and sister, I have never met him.

There is still a lot that needs to play out in Ann Arbor. He very well could have a different coach there next year. There would also be quite a bit of P5 suitors as well given he was a pretty high profile recruit as a prep. Likely NIL that would come into play as well.

With how the portal works, its going to be a lot harder for these higher profile guys to wind up on the FCS level as most of them will just make a lateral transfer to a school with similar status. FCS gets a lot more guys that are on their second transfer (Vidlak) as those guys have come to the conclusion FCS may be their only opportunity at meaningful playing time.

I agree with you on all counts. And yes, NIL will definitely play a factor. I just feel he needs to move and I wanted everyone to know that he does have loose ties to Montana.

I came across an article about Michigan and Harbaugh which quote Harbaugh as saying his team has about 20 who will get drafted by the NFL. So, this is the year, make it or break it.

And that is my point. He was injured this year until September. He needs to move somewhere. Why not here?

Can we go after this guy too…

Pass this info to the football staff. That’s more helpful.

Football staff and boosters can’t reach out to him unless he’s in the portal though. Pretty sure that’s an ncaa violation right?

I know that. I implied that this information should be passed onto the GRIZ staff, not for any of us to contact him.
It would be nice for them to at the least know about him, and the Missoula connection, just in case he wants to consider us.
