D Line Recruiting

We have two very solid verbals in Longoria and Davidson but that's about it, with one in Davidson that we know should contribute immediately. D Line is considered to be pretty thin, especially at DT after Caleb Kidder. We have a ton of offers out there and it sounds like egriz favorite Devonta DJ Davidson might be to big of a catch to real in with Omar Dyles next on the wish list. Anyone else starting to get a little nervous about our Defensive Line recruiting? I trust Stitt and co. as recruiters but if we don't get a couple big time big fellas to verbal soon I'm going to start to get a little nervous. Can anyone with some inside info put my mind at ease?

That being said I am absolutely stoked about the rest of our verbals, especially WR and OLine. :thumb:

I don't believe this will be neglected....and really I feel like we are doing ok at DE, although Chase Benson would be an excellent addition. DT is where we could really use 1 or 2 SOLID incoming freshmen.

Davidson looks like he could be Kidder type of DT, but bigger. Dyles reminds me of Jamaal Wilson, not huge....but built low to the ground and really powerful and quick. I'd love both.

Need to add this big fella to the top end of our D Line wish list! Mckee-Osibodu could be another great addition. He is a Caleb Kidder style DT that could really take away from #37 getting double teamed. If we add Mckee-Osibodu, Omar Dyles and Cole Rosling at DE I will be very very happy.

Link from the recruiting thread. Whoa  If you haven't watched this kids tape yet, stop what you are doing and press play.

I wish we would offer Noah Gerald from Arizona he was named the best DE in the state of Arizona but somehow only has offers from Adams State and D2 and 3 schools I know he wants to be a GRIZ bad.

He's good. But damn those fields suck. Dirt bowls.

Lol exactly what I thought. Also made me think about level of competition. Is he going against good competition or is he rag dolling scrubs? Either way it's fun to watch.

He is on the list of defensive recruits. So I think he has been offered.

Coach Stitt and another coach stopped by about 2 weeks ago... And OL Verbal Thayne Jackson has stated several times that Noah Gerald was the hardest DL guy he faced....

If he wants to be a Griz... He will be.

The hudl vid I can find is from his junior year. Anything more current, not desparaging the kid but it's not among the best d-line highlights I've seen this year.

Here is some film of Noah Gerad vs. Thayne Jacksons Gilbert team... with all due respect to Thayne (#67) the video at 50 seconds makes me a believer!
