Cue the paranoid "How will we ever keep the big bad FBS away from Stitt?'

Somebody was going to say it...figured I'd beat'em to it so we could give it a rest...Hell, he liked Mines well enough to stick around for fifteen years.

Good move. Everything we heard/read showed that Stitt had opportunities before UM came calling, but he was too happy with the life-style at Mines. Of course, it will take more than one game to really get FBS attention. But when he does get that attention, who, among the good teams that might actually be interested, can offer him what he had at Mines and has at UM? The only ones I can think of that have the lifestyle all have crappy teams.

I could definitely see him going back to the University of Nebraska one day - since he is from the state and went to college there (not at Nebraska, but IN Nebraska).

You don't keep him away. You hope to win a few championships while you are lucky to have him and hope an assistant rides the ship. Money and glory of the FBS always wins. Name a legendary FCS coach who stuck around the FCS his entire career, other than some of the old guys who won a championship at the end of their career?

This post is right on...I don't see Stitt entertaining offers in the next few years, unless he puts another pennant up in the Southeast corner.

Stitt will be gone in a "NY Minute" if he gets the right offer. Your post is pure hopeful conjecture....

The point is, his past history says that "the right offer" will take both money and a congenial lifestyle. And, obviously, he has to do more than win one game (by a FG), and his "druthers" could change.

Did he get an FBS or any significant offer? I'm confused what your point is.

I am impressed by the high regard with which Stitt is viewed as an offensive mastermind by far better known coaches. If I am a prospective FBS employer, however, I certainly would want to see a few championships, if for no other reason than the fact that it would elevate Stitt's name recognition among prospective recruits.

Someone who gets it...I'm fairly certain Stitt's goal is to win a NC (or more) while here. That's also my goal for him. Beyond that...whatever. In any case, our ultimate goal is finding a coach who can win championships, belittle the Bobcats, and represent the University with integrity, etc, whether it's Stitt or anyone else. Now let's enjoy the season!

I'm not worried. If we have a coach who succeeds here that coach will eventually be enticed away. With the potential pay scale difference being what it is I am resigned to that fact. You may as well be too.

It has always been thus, and always will be. In the meantime enjoy the ride!
