Critical Thoughts On Griz Football

Was talking to a big time writer from a different conference and they said Bobby has a bad reputation nationwide in the media. That Lucas Semb Clip blasted out on Twitter didn’t help they said.

I can't find it. Do you have a link? Or are you talking about the one where he tells Flowers not to answer a question yesterday?

Well that one was just cringe-worthy. It’s on Twitter if you look up his account. Maybe he took it down, idk.

It was a poorly placed question by the media member. It was well outside of the "lane" of a player. Bobby didn't tell him not answer - he said something like, I'll take this one Malik. It wasn't a big deal. The member of the media - then asked BH the question, and he answered.

If that was it I have no issues with his response. And he did interupt to tell Flowers that question wasnt for him and that hes take it. If Flowers had answered it his answer should've been "we all have to play better if we want to win". But again, I'm fine with how Hauck handled that.

I saw the reporter mentioned in a reply to someone that it went to accountability with why he asked. Accountability on a team takes place in the locker room. Leadership means snading up for your teammates and saying "we all need to be better" to show support.

He essentially asked Malik how confident he is that the team will win this week.

Any coach in America is going to tell his player to not touch that one in a public press conference.

No, he didn’t. He asked Malik how confident he was with Brown as the starting QB.

Not true, We’ve been asked that question multiple times. It’s not a hard question to answer… granted we do have 2 solid options. Either way it’s still a canned HR question.

And, BH did the right thing by taking the question - if that is what was asked. I had a hard time hearing the exact question, but it did include "how confident...." Malik has no control over who plays in game etc. Simply not in his lane.

I won't stand by all of BH's press conference antics, but he was right in this case.

Agreed. I had a twitter conversation with Luke about it. He defended asking the question, and I said I didn’t think that was a fair question to ask of another player. I also think Bobby did the right thing by taking that question out of Malik’s hands.

Oh I misheard.

That's a much worse question than what I thought.

And he made some reply about accountability. Shifty leader if you hold people accountable through your answers in a press conference. That's where you publicly support your people.
