anybody notice that wyoming beat kansas state last night (at home) and will play wisconsin (again, at home) for the championship of the n.i.t.? if the cowgirls prevail, it means the lady griz will have beaten the n.i.t. champs twice.
as this season plays out, the magnitude of the lady griz's late-season stumble becomes apparent. it was clear our ladies had more talent than utah, and obvious too that we had the talent to vie for an n.i.t. crown. but in the four biggest "statement" games of the year--ohio state, weber at weber (when we had a chance to move into the top 25), northern arizona (big sky tournament) and utah (n.i.t.)--we came up with our worst games.
sophomores will be sophomores, and there's always next year.
