Could the Seahawks be for real?

Call me a cheapskate, but at $400.00 a pair, I'll take the option of my couch. I think those tickets will climb even higher. If it were the Super Bowl, I'd do it, but not for a 2nd round playoff -- the NFL is interesting, UM football is a passion. Pro games just don't have the same heart and emotion, even if the crowd at Quest is going beserk.

Seahawks vs. Panthers for the Division Championship!

I have no idea how this game is going to go. As a Seahawks fan, you are conditioned to believe that they are going to shit the bed whenever they are in a big game. I know they won last week, but I can just feel a let down coming on. It would be totally in character for them to totally blow it just when they are starting to get some good pub.

It is really not that relevant that Foster is out for Carolina, b/c Goings is a capable backup and their success running the ball is all about the O-line anyway. Seattle will do a better job than Chicago did of covering Smith. Did anyone watch that game? Unbelievable. Smith was all by himself 30 yards down the field on every deep ball. Where's the safety help? Also, I was truly hoping that Peppers wouldn't play. It looks like he will, but how effective will he be with that injured shoulder?

How will Alexander respond? Will there be lingering effects from having his bell rung last weekend? Will he finally man up and have an MVP style playoff game? I am going to be so pissed if he turns in another Alexanderesque performance of something like 17 carries for 42 yards and 0 TDs. You are the league MVP dude. You need to play like it against somebody other than Arizona and San Fran.

Peter Warrick has replace Jimmy Williams as punt returner so hopefully those problems will have abated. I'm going to say it comes down to (in my opinion) the best money kicker in the NFL, Josh Brown.

Seahawks-31
Panthers-28

GO HAWKS!

Shit the bed? HaHaHa...

I'm a Steelers fan myself but I did live in Seattle for a few years in the early 90's and I still follow Sea-town sports fairly closely. I really hope the Seahawks don't lay an egg on Sunday. I want to see them crush Carolina and I think that they will do so. Carolina hasn't played a team with a functional offense in quite a while. NY stumbled into the playoffs and was the worst team to make it to the post season. Chicago moved the ball and scored on the Carolina defense and Seattle's offense is light years ahead of Chicago's.

Will Holmgren get "Martz-itis" and out think himself, get too cute with his play calling and lose the game with coaching errors? He's done it before with Seattle but I haven't seen that side of him in a while. Will Hasselback pull his "Favre at his worst" act and throw all kinds of risky passes instead of playing it conservative and smart? He only seems to make those bone-headed, off balance, throw-into-triple-coverage mistakes once or twice a game now but Carolina's DB's are too good for even that. Hass has to play smart. Will we see Alexander the Great or Alexander the Meek? He's never had a great playoff game and you gotta think that he's due for one sooner or later.

I'm calling a blow out. Seattle 35, Carolina 17.

Hoo-hah! I got my wish - my Steelers vs the Seahawks. Convicing wins by both teams - hope it's a good game.

my broncos played horrible, i wanted to cry after that game because i dont think i have EVER seen them play that bad at home.

Are the Seahawks for real? YES!

I'm not a big Seahawks fan personally, but it's great to see a Seattle team in the Super Bowl. This should be a good one. If the Seahawks play the way they did against Carolina, they just might end up not only with their first trip to the Super Bowl, but their first Lombardi Trophy and World Championship.

I love this thread

Seahawks were smart where Chicago wasn't - They said flat out to Carolina that you will have to find another way to beat us besides Steve Smith. Perfect game plan as the game was never really close. They frustrated and shut down the entire Carolina team - both of their touchdowns were cheap (bad reversal on the block in the back on the kickoff, and a mistimed jump on a deep ball by Dyson) otherwise this game could've been a shutout!

Alexander comes through with an MVP style game at just the right time, and Hasselbeck goes into the Super Bowl playing as well as any quarterback probably ever. His efficiency numbers for the last half of the season are just sick. The defense is playing well but will have their work cut out big time against the Steelers. Plus, Pittsburgh should have more of a "home-field advantage" in Detroit with it being closer to Pittsburgh and most Detroit locals rooting for "The Bus" in what will probably be his last game.

I can't believe the Seahawks are playing for the World Championship!

Nice win by the Seahawks. It has to be crazy out there last night. Super Bowl will hopefully be a close one. I would like to see Seattle win it but I think that with the number one alum of Detroit St. Martin DePorres High School back home for one last game it may go in Pittsburghs favor. It almost seems like destiney for Bettis to have his career finish out that way.
