win 8 of the last 10, for a 20 win season.
That would be monstrous, plus a few tournament
wins after that. I bet that would bring a lot of people back.

Or is that un-realistic ?

winning 8 of 10, could be realistic.

Bringing in a lot of people, maybe not.

attendance should be decent for the Griz/Cat game. Attendance should also improve when students get back. Predicted end of the year attendance: 3,600 (this may be over realistic but with students and Griz/Cat game during the time when students are back, may be realistic).

Griz will have play like they did against PSU to win 8 of 10. The games I have concerns with are the Griz games against MSU and UNC on the road. The rest I think the Griz can win if they play well in both games.

Making the trip for the cat game, hoping we're
7 of 9 by then, and then stick it up the cats ass.

Four games out there that Griz most likely maybe will be hard to win plus two more.
Therefore 6-4 in all probability be the most likely outcome of the next 10.
What needs to be considered is that EWU is very explosive and after the win at MSU they are going to be a bit more of a problem to get beyond for a tournament birth. Griz had some lucky plays to make it appear that they are a little better vs EWU than reality. When Staudacher hits the three the wins come easy and when he does not it is going to be tough on the road. Portland State, EWU, NCU, MSU should all be favored at home at this point in time. Weber and MSU are capable of making it Miserable in Missoula if the Staudacher is off. After this Saturday I figured Griz were in the tournament ahead of EWU, SAC, and NAU but after the MSU loss to EWU the Griz are going to have to play the way the did Friday and Saturday for a few more games to convince me that all is well and that the shots continue drop. I have assumed that Raason Young was going to come on and he is fun to watch and Selvig appears to be able to still be a factor after watching the game Saturday. If it goes well that would leave the Griz at 9-7 which does not leave a lot of room for nights when the shots are not dropping.
The road game at SAC STATE coming up 1/15/10 my be the key to the whole deal.
 
I see a lot of things coming together for the Griz that were inconsistant earlier - rebounding, shooting, offensive execution, transition game, roles - even the defense is getting better. I hope they are over the hump, so to speak, and will now start playing like we think they are capable. 8 of the next 10 is a possibility, but it'll all come down to the tournament, for every team in the league.

I should add, that even the mental side of things - 40-minute focus, hammer down at all times - seems to be coming along.

Tinkle teams have been far too inconsistent to pull off such a great string of wins. However, if they do manage this, you can count me as one of the most excited fans out there. Not trying to be a downer, just being realistic about my expectations of Tinkle teams.

Looks like they are capable of doing it under Tinkle. I would take this year's team over last years. Last year they went on an impressive run in January. Ironically enough they went on an 8-2 run beginning 1/21. They just choked to UNC then MSU at the end.

The choking is what I am worried about. When the season was on the line, Tinks team didn't show last year. Again, I am masking my optimism. I REALLY hope that this teams does keep up the flow from the last two games and goes on a tear. If so, I will be PUMPED! But I will also keep myself grounded for when it doesn't happen.
 
Before the conf season started I guessed UNC, UM, and WSU would all get 20.

Last time the 'Sky did that wasu 1996.

Wildcats hoping Big Sky not limit

... Following recent victories over Northern Colorado (81-76) and Idaho State (89-64), Weber leads the Bears by 11/2 games with only two remaining. The Wildcats win all tiebreakers with Northern Colorado, however, meaning they will be home for the Big Sky tournament March 10-11.
"It's a great advantage, no question," Rahe said. "You have most of the fans with you and you get to sleep in your own beds. ... This time of year, it helps not having to travel." The host team has won 12 of the last 19 Big Sky Conference tournaments. Weber hopes to make it 13 out of 20.
"It's a thrill to be part of something so special," Hansen said. "But we can't give up now. We have to, hopefully, get some momentum going into the tournament. We still have a long ways to go."
The tournament winner receives an NCAA bid -- probably the only one a Big Sky team will get.
"In a one-bid league, it's now or never, that's for sure," Rahe said. "That makes it ultra-important. But it's ultra-fun, too. The intensity is exciting. You really have to bring it to reach the ultimate goal."
The run to a title followed a reversal of fortune for Weber State.
After Montana State upset the Wildcats in last year's tournament, Weber opened 1-4 this season.
Rahe points to a rugged schedule that included visits to Utah State and BYU, plus an influx of new rotation players, for the slow start. "It takes new guys awhile to get comfortable," Rahe said. "But by mid-December, I thought, everybody had a good feel for what we were doing and we started getting better." Since an 83-76 come-from-behind win over Utah on Dec. 2, the Wildcats have gone 17-4.
