Trajon found out he was granted another year by the NCAA. That makes him just a RS-Soohomore. You may recall that Hicks-Onu got an extension too. So both our Oregon St drop down DBs get to be Griz for an extra year. Great news!

PlayerRep said:I think they all have very good potential. I was intending to poke a little fun at the hype. The OR St guys can run. Omar had 5th fastest 40 at OR St. .01 from being tied for 3d fastest.
I like our returning soph too. I like our N.C. coach.
Now we just need a season.

I have not heard about 2020 R-SR transfer Omar Hick Onu receiving an extension, where did I miss this?

Looking at his playing history, he redshirted, played in 3 seasons, and had one taken away by injury. That's 5 seasons.
Not sure where he'd be getting another 7th season back in 2021.
Thomson had 2 years cut short by injury, though.grizfan1984 said:uofmman1122 said:Rethinking this now, are we sure the clock extension wasn't just so Hicks-Onu could play this year?

Not sure but Kevin Thomson got a 7th year also, and would we have really recruited a kid who we didn’t know if he’d be eligible or not?

So unless Hicks-Onu had an injury in one of the seasons he played in, I don't see how he'd get another, but I hope I'm wrong.
I don't claim to know the mysterious ways in which the NCAA operates, so that could very well be true.MissoulaMarinerFan said:uofmman1122 said:Thomson had 2 years cut short by injury, though.

He could have just straight up asked for 2 and the NCAA said "sure." I believe Tootell and Nuanez had him (Thomson) on their show once and that is what he did - so the same could have happened for Hicks-Onu. Maybe.
