I wonder if the Oregon AD listens to Phil Knight?
Of course he does. They’ve also underwent repeated staff changes and found a way to continually stay near or atop the PAC, and this year it’ll be between them and Washington for the title and likely a CFP berth. I’d love for a Dan Lanning or DeBoer style HC here in Missoula. To improve is to change, to perfect is to change often. Oregon knew that and that’s why they cut Helfrich loose when they saw he wasn’t getting it done. Washington cut Jimmy Lake in similar fashion. And look at both programs now. Good programs know when it’s time to move on.

It will be interesting to do this poll again at the end of the season. Assuming things keep trending positively, Bobby may just make fools of us all! I’m certainly enjoying the crow. It would be so satisfying to see Bobby succeed and fulfill expectations. I’d hate for his second stint to fizzle out and result in a less than amorous split between he and the athletic department. Best case scenario is that he and the rest info the coaching staff fulfill internal expectations and make us all look dumb

Did those coaches have very strong support of top boosters? Nope. Do you really think Montana’s situation is or should be like top FBS program? Did those schools have record ticket sales and attendance when the changes were made? Were those programs top 15 programs each year? Do you think UM can pay multi-dollar salaries to attract top coaches? Had any of those coaches taken the team to the national championship game 3 times?

Do some Griz fans just think the team has shown improvement since earlier in the season, based on magic or might it have been good coaching and hard work?

Nah. Obviously witchcraft. Everybody here knows Bobby can't coach a lick.

Feelings have probably changed for everyone! I know mine have. I was sure that hauck made a huge mistake with his “shuffling of chairs” approach to fixing the offense that clearly struggled last season. Well, I’m eating crow. The coaches have done one hell of a job getting this offense to improve every week and the defense is lights out. I like the way the team is trending with Ah Yat waiting in the wings and years of Gillman. We would be very lucky to have coach hauck continue his coaching career here. Go Griz!

Like Montana moving on from Bob Stitt.
