seems to me they pretty much got the guys they wanted, and got them signed, sealed and delivered on signing day--a couple of bigs, a couple of promising wing players, and a small but cat-quick point guard. looks like an outstanding class, which makes me very happy, since healthy rivalries are the stuff of college sports, and raise the basketball profile for the entire conference.

Mslacat compared one of our recruits to Vassy Banny except taller (won't be a star but fill a role). Could someone please describe to me what Vassy played like so I have a frame of reference?

I didn't even know that Vassy Banny was on the Griz until the playoffs and I only saw him for a few minutes.

As nice as this class may be it sounds like Tinkle may have outdone us again. It sounds like most of our recruits are hard workers because Huse will not accept anything else if you play for the Cats.

For those interested, Mslacat teamed up with Will Holden from the Bozeman chronicle and put together a nice review of MSU's recuriting class. Lots of interesting information, including a ranking...

Vassy was the guy who did all the things that didn't show up in the stat-line. I think he was actually underutilized and when he got a couple of starts at the end of the season I thought the Griz were a much better team. He always knew where to be for a rebound, which says a lot because the Griz should have been a better rebounding team than they were last year. I just wish he had got more minutes than he did.
