Conference realignment 2.0

I did a quick look at the population. Greeley is about 110,000 and Weld County is over 250,000. The local paper won't even cover UNC athletics. No shit! What were they thinking by wanting to go FCS? What the hell was the BSC doing by letting them in???
One of many Fullerton Follies.

Playing everyone in the conference does not guarranty a clear champion. There is still a real possibility of a tie at the top.

which is an easy tiebreaker scenario
Team A & B are tied for most wins at 7 each. Team A beat team B . Team A is crowned the champ.

So when you have 3 teams with 1 loss, and they each beat each other? It's happened in the past. I know there are tie breakers to solve this. My point was just that having to play everyone does not guarranty a clear champion. There can still be ties at the top.

At this point - sit tight and watch how things start to unfold. Haslam probably has numerous scenarios he is working on or planning for. The Big Sky doesn’t have many appealing teams right now for an FBS conference. Three maybe and probably more like two. UM’s enrollment, or lack thereof is a potential hurdle. Bozeman has the right trajectory, but from a sports standpoint they haven’t really done anything big (other than women’s basketball). Weber is packed liked sardines with other FBS teams in their area. Eastern is broke and Idaho already failed miserably.

With the WAC returning and with FCS football I could potentially see a few more schools in the Big Sky jumping ship to join the conference. If that were to occur the teams I feel that are most likely to do it are:

-Cal Poly
-UCD
-NAU
-UNC

The California schools are football members only anyways and might prefer to stick with SUU a long time opponent, Texas exposure ect. NAU as they would fit in the geographical footprint pretty well with 2 Utah schools close by and would depend on their new President. Northern Colorado has always felt a bit of an outlier to me in the conference and I think they have sports already playing in the WAC.

Eastern Washington and Portland State both seem to be having issues with their football program and wouldn't be surprised to see one or both cutting it in the near future as well.
