Conference Rankings

Attached is a link to rankings and analysis for all 11 Big Sky teams. The breakdowns for each team include key players and conference stats, so you all can have some of the essential info for each team the Griz play. I hope you all like the work---but if you feel I'm a moron after reading, please, in great detail, let me know.

I've got Montana and Weber as their own tier within the conference, with Montana having the slight edge over Weber. I have the Cats at #4, but not a confident #4 as they only have wins against the four one-loss teams and the opening win vs. SUU when SUU still hadn't recovered from the loss of their best player (Dwayne Morgan, former top 25 recruit).

Right on. But, the UM-Weber game will probably favor Weber as the Griz are really beat up in key spots. Fouls and 3 pt shots will decide this game, I think. Hopefully, UM's bench will be stronger than Weber's.

I hope Oguine is back for the Weber game---I couldn't find anything news related that went over the extent of the injury, though I wasn't shocked he suited for the game with no formal announcement so ISU couldn't plan for it. If he doesn't play it's a huge shift---other than his D, which matters, it's astounding to me that he averages over 13ppg on just over 8 shots. Having a guy like that makes the ball sharing your top four have to do feasible.

Also--the inside batthe of Braxton vs. Akoh could be huge for both. Braxton is their Oguine, in that he averages around 11ppg on just over 5 shots per game. He scores on putbacks and one-to-two footers, but he does a lot of other things while scoring opportunistically (and on some posts). He's maybe the only player athletic and strong enough to not have to double Akoh, but fouls could matter for both of those guys.
