Montana AD/FCS Selection Committee Chair Kent Haslam joins the FCS Delivered podcast to offer an inside look at the committee’s process, including why FCS reveals its rankings four weeks before the field is set but not in subsequent weeks leading up to the final bracket. Haslam isn’t sure why FCS moved away from revealing the rankings in multiple weeks and says: “I could foresee there being more reveals … There’s just not a lot of data points to be able to evaluate teams, and so as you move through and you get further on, it does make it much easier. I would like to see maybe one more reveal, two would be great. There’s just so much that moves in FCS. … We don’t get great regional matchups early in the non-conference play, so it gets really difficult to be able to evaluate teams.
