:thumb: amd :clap: for the ink and accurate review of the GRIZ. It's soooooooooooooo nice to see some ink somewhere nationally about small to midmajor programs. (Are you listening Athlons, Street and Smith, ESPN, Sporting News, etc?) Personally I would love to see all college publications and websites give equal attention to all div 1A programs. I am getting sick of spending my $'s on these publications and only have 1 damn page dedicated to the whole conference, and maybe 2 paragraphs about the team.
With that said, I am looking forward to see how well the new SME network covers small to midmajor basketball. If SME does well, I guarantee they will have my loyality and interest over the likes of ESPN, FOX, etc. Does anyone know if there is an annual basketball publication(s) dedicated to small to midmajor programs, beyond local papers? If so, please post contact information. If not, who else would be interested in supporting something like this from a fan standpoint? (Yes I am tired of all the pub going to the so called "BIG BOYS", both basketball and football!)
As for the GRIZ, I am really looking forward to this season. I expect Hasquet to be conference MVP, with solid Rundles and Strait offering consistent support and all conference numbers too. I also cannot wait to see more of the newbies. With all the depth and better athleticism at Guard, my best hope is the GRIZ pressure and trap more often. IMHO, the GRIZ are better using pressure and traps, than playing a standard zone or man defense.
Please Wayne, trap and press more often, and find time for Vanderjagt in the paint if he is healthy. :thumb:
