Coastal Carolina vs BCU attendance

Liberty is your rivalry game? We stomped them last season, and I am not disrespecting your team, but 3000 people vs over 22000-26000 is going to be a big change for your team.

3,000 seats is not the size of Liberty's stadium.

Name: Williams Stadium
Site: On the Liberty University campus near the main entrance and adjacent to the Hancock Welcome Center
Capacity: 19,200

Yes, I am aware that that is still not as large as yawls stadium.

Example of crowd noise from liberty and fans in stands below.

I realize it might not compare but we aren't the little team that doesn't know what a big crowd looks like.

And 3,000 is not the size of our stadium (9'400) which is still not huge but it's a good size.

This is a great post, and I would expect nothing less. Pretty cool that you guys have only had a program for 11 years and are already making some waves in the playoffs. I fully appreciate that you have to compete with other activities for attendance, but c'mon! CCU has the potential to be a great program on a national stage, and these are the playoffs!

All kidding aside, we have fans of teams in our conference who say the same thing. However, I think you guys have better excuses for poor attendance (young program, other draws in the area) than most of our conference brethren. EWU won the NC not long ago and still barely gets over 7,000 EWU fans for home games. Not sure what else there is to do in Cheney that keeps the people away.

As far as our matchup goes, I don't expect the weather or the atmosphere to determine the outcome. I think the better team will win the game.

And to shed more light on the issue we almost have a 50/50 split when it comes to in-state and out of state enrollment. Most of our out of state students come from the Northeast (New York & New Jersey to be more specific) and before we started football that number might have been larger(don't quote me on the latter).

This has lead many of our Horry County (Conway, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Murrles Inlet, etc.) residents (who resent "Yankees") to have disdain for Coastal Carolina University. And not to mention a lot of these residents already had their allegiances (So.Car & Clemson).

And this leaves the Northern kids who normally don't support collegiate athletics (NFL Fans) to be fair weather when it comes to supporting athletics. Don't get me wrong, they have school pride and love for Coastal they just choose other activities at times instead of going to games. They love when our teams do well and they brag on them even if they've only attended one or two games the entire year.

I was not using Liberty as a comparison for attendance, I was saying we beat them last season with no trouble at all.
