Coach Hauck

UNLV looks horrible
What they look, to me, is "inattentive" and poorly coached: missed tackles, blown assignments, etc. I expected Arizona to have better talent, but not to the extent we're seeing. Or perhaps it's just lack of effort -- not what you expect from a Hauck team. That may mean that the players just no longer buy into Bobbie and his program ... a very bad sign.

Whatever the situation, I would imagine the paint will be blistering in the locker room during the half.

PLAYERS not buying into the staff is the furthest thing from reality at UNLV. I'm not seeing a lack of effort at all and I haven't changed the channel once. I see an Arizona team that is CLEARLY better than UNLV, including being quarterbacked by a dude from UNLV's backyard, Bishop Gorman High School. Ahhhhh the "love to hate on BH" at all costs will never know any bounds on this board. Bobby has the COMPLETE backing of the AD, the President and the entire UNLV family at this point. He and UNLV are in it for the long haul. And yes, His players may all hate him, but they damn sure respect him and they play hard for him. No different than the way it was at UM.

Actually, I do not "hate on" Hauck. Whatever his alleged faults in the PR department, you have to respect his coaching ability (and I actually enjoyed Bobbie's rips on stupid media questions).

But having watched several of the earlier games between top and mid- or lower-tier teams, we've seen some big disparities between talent levels. On paper, the talent level between UNLV and Arizona does not seem that great -- very clear, but not huge. Thus, I am surprised at the complete inability of UNLV to stay with Arizona. (And it actually could be worse than the score currently shows.) Sorry, but to me that signals poor preparation or a lack of effort. And no one ever accused Bobbie of poor preparation. Is this just a very bad day for UNLV and a super-hot day for Arizona? Could be ... but either way, this team has a lot of work to do before its next game.
