Soccer Citowicki leaving for Wazzu?

If true we need to realize Chris isn’t a good person and doesn’t want Montana to succeed.
Ridiculous statement. Dude bled maroon while here. Nows he's bleeding candy apple red cus the maroon blood was not reciprocated by the leadership and enough was enough. A man can only take so many empty promises. Now hes focused on making WSU what he wanted the Griz to be. Get over it.

You’re just realizing that now? The level of hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance by that man is astounding.
Thats a very broad bold statement, please expand on why you feel this way cus i believe you're full of shit. How was he a hypocrite while here at the U? Especially the cognitive dissonance part. Id love to hear your reasoning for the psychology profile.

Exactly. And with time to study the portal as it is two months away.
Transfer window is 15 days running May 1-15.
Just to be clear, Gore does not have to wait unti the May window to be talking to and signing players currently in the portal as I understand it. The May portal window is for players to enter the portal - ie, those cut this spring, or those who decide to move on after the spring and hadn't entered the portal during the winter window. (Players can also enter the portal if their college has a coaching change outside those windows.) Gore can sign players currently in the portal at any time as far as I understand but there will be a few more entering in the spring. They just couldn't enroll and train with the team until the next semester. That's my understanding.

Hate to be bearer of bad news, but I have heard on good authority that both Jo and Cate Gusick (Nevada state POY, and 2026 UM commit) are both visiting Pullman this weekend.

That is correct.

I’m full of shit, ok dude. You clearly don’t know Chris. And if you don’t understand why it’s cognitive dissonance then you have no idea the full truth of what happened and how he left.

No, you're right, i don't know some big secret. I do know what i seen on the outside for 8 years and what the program become and how the girls really seemed to love him. I guess you hiding behind a screen name throwing random secret accusations trumps all that.

There were over 1,000 players in the portal in December/January, now just above 400 so most of the impactful players were picked up. You can expect between 2-400 players enter the spring portal. There are numerous 2027's in the Portland and Seattle area that are unsigned so let's see if Gore and J focus on 2027's.

Key words…”what you saw on the OUTSIDE for 8 years”. Bottom line, he won and was very successful at UM. Nobody can or is trying to dispute that. The point being made is that the way in which he left after professing to love the school, the city and most importantly the girls is a direct reflection of the man. You don’t cut five girls when you know you’re leaving. You don’t aggressively go after current Griz rostered players. I wasn’t on the outside looking in. I was very much on the inside for 5 years. Only speaking from what was personally observed. I’m not even sure why I’m trying to defend the point or why I’m still even having the discussion. You’re right, Chris is an ethical saint.
Moving on!

The FOUR cuts (Anderson, Johnson, Stendera and Smith) were around November 20 (that’s when a friend texted me about it anyway)… all four were offered to stay through spring and opted to leave. Why are you saying 5 and trying to make it worse? So much for SpeakingFactsOnly

Ole Miss announced Todd’s hiring December 1. So WSU job was open more than 10 days after the cuts were made. Was he supposed to be a mind reader. Was he never supposed to make any decisions just in case a new job presented itself??? With the upcoming roster limitations he was going to have to make cuts. Everyone knows that. Waiting until after Spring Season would make it worse for cut players… and had Chris stayed he was likely going to have to make more cuts after Spring or ask some 2026 to delay enrollment (which coaches sometimes do).

If a coach is an all around terrible guy, I don’t think 10 players would follow him… with another willing to follow him (but made another choice based on academics and other factors outside of soccer). No coach is always going to be liked for every decision… someone is always going to have hurt feelings, think their kid is the best, etc. It’s a business and UM admin did this by all their broken promises

It sounds like to me speak's daughter didn't get as many minutes as they liked.

There was the story of Chris cutting two seniors who had been promised a 5th year the day after the senior banquet and a few days before the portal closed. He supposedly told them that he had just come out of a meeting with the AD and he had made budget cuts and there was no money for them. They supposedly said they would play without scholarship and in the process found out from the athletic department that the budget cuts was a lie he used to justify cutting them and the athletic department supposedly said they would honor the scholarships even if they didn't play, knowing it was a really bad look on the program. One of the players was a captain and had played almost every game but word is that they had stood up to Chris after he exploded on the team in tirade that was so bad that he had to email all the parents.

When was this?
IMO the UM Administration is the primary villain here for not rewarding his success.

And I also know all coaches have to be a bit of used car salesman during recruiting these days. So far he has honored or exceeded his promises to the players who went to WSU (at least the 5-6 my daughter talks to) but he also has brought up the need to make cuts after Spring. Wonder if any cuts will be former Griz - that would be brutal for his reputation

Chris didn’t know he was leaving when he told those girls to find other schools. He was prepared to continue coaching at UM, if Ole Miss hadn’t hired Washington St coach then Chris wouldn’t have left.
You can love a place but at the end of the day he has to do what’s best for his family, like buy them a house.

We just need to Thank Chris for the memories and move forward with the Gore era.
Support the new head coach, his staff and players.
The issue we should be focused on is helping support upgrades to the facilities. Also school needs to hire more support staff, the ladies were having practice in the bubble and the person in charge doesn’t even show up to turn on the lights. Place looked like a great setting for a scary movie.

He has a roster problem, already has 28 players which is the max he can have due to WSU opting into the NCAA House settlement, he can't add any spring transfers or uncommitted players without cutting someone. Like I said before the 2026's that stayed are a lot better than some of the players that went over. Get your popcorn ready will be interesting on how the season plays out.

At this point, I would take the “too-many” player problem :-) but hopefully the opportunity to play right away will attract some Spring portal players to Griz.

At WSU, Chris definitely has room to cut some forwards - 11 on current 2026 Coug roster. Also has 4 GKs in the 28.

Question for the experts: Do injured/LTIR players count against the NCAA 28 player roster limit? Chris took two Griz who may not be game-ready by Fall (ACL repair). There are also 2-3 original WSU players that are in same boat and opted to continue rehab in Pullman thru Spring - but will they stay?
Question 2: Would Gore/Griz nation be open to players returning to the fold or too awkward?

I can't imagine they would be against someone coming back, but obviously hard to know all the insides of that situation. No worries...my plan is to win the powerball when it's over a billion again, and then I'll donate some cash to get the soccer program to where it could be!

Question 1-they all count to the 28 player limit.
