Yes, Troy had no funding or campus support.Seem like the guy at Purdue was his only full time assistant and the other was a GA.

J working his ass off. Doing everything in his power to retain, recruit and develop. At this point he needs to be named HC. And don’t sit there and tell me he’s not qualified. The man just won three straight big sky championships. Do you really think he had nothing to do with that? Do you really think CC was the brains? Think again! Can Coach J even recruit and sign players or are his hands tied??
Totally Agree!!!. I know he is busy, if you have access to him, let him know that several 2026's have reached out to him via email and twitter that are interested in playing for the Griz.J working his ass off. Yes, but football pays most of the schools bills. They can hire head football coaches faster at UM apparently!
He’s aware and is working on all those that are showing interest.Totally Agree!!!. I know he is busy, if you have access to him, let him know that several 2026's have reached out to him via email and twitter that are interested in playing for the Griz.
I don't understand why he took the job then, he was at a place that won a championship and played in the NCAA tournament. I think there is more to the story.Yes, Troy had no funding or campus support.
All of the Lousiana schools in the ‘University of System’ are broke so I bet it a complete lack of resources. I’ve heard of coaches at that level having to mow their own fields.I don't understand why he took the job then, he was at a place that won a championship and played in the NCAA tournament. Hope your right, as they are good players reaching out to him. He’s aware and is working on all those that are showing interest.
Yes not fair but football pays most of the bills for the school, totally damage control to prevent players from entering the portal which I bet some will still do.Remember footballs new HC is already on staff so they’re just elevating a coach not doing a national search like we are.

Coaches have egos, maybe he thought he could turn the program around. Here is Troy's record prior to him.I don't understand why he took the job then, he was at a place that won a championship and played in the NCAA tournament. I think there is more to the story.
Also in 2022 the Sun Belt added some heavy hitter for soccer into the conference.Coaches have egos, maybe he thought he could turn the program around. Here is Troy's record prior to him.
2020 - 4-10-1 Conference 1-81
2021 - 7-10-1 Conference 4-6-0
2022 - 3-9-4 Conference 1-6-3
Agree, but what's the plan if some reason Troy coach turns it downAs much as I love the ladies soccer team, football is the reason there is a soccer team, so I'm OK with them hiring a coach from on staff this quickly. That said, I really don't mind finding the right soccer coach at this point, and honestly, the Troy coach is intriguing to me in a good way.
Yes he can.Can Coach J even recruit and sign players or are his hands tied??
Troy University is in southern Alabama. All of the Lousiana schools in the ‘University of System’ are broke so I bet it a complete lack of resources. I’ve heard of coaches at that level having to mow their own fields.

2018-2020 was Associate HC at James Madison, 2020 Associate HC at University of North Dakota, 2021-2023 HC at Northwestern University and 2023-2025 HC at Troy.
