Is that a good or bad sign I wonder.Idk it’s weird.

I’m trying to be neutral so guessing they don’t want the name to leakIs that a good or bad sign I wonder.
Interesting, did all the coaches who came to campus have time with J too?I’m trying to be neutral so guessing they don’t want the name to leak
No J hasn’t been part of the process, he’s been getting info second hand.Interesting, did all the coaches who came to campus have time with J too?
Good infor, Thank you. If the AD wants to take the next step and win a game in the NCAA tournament you need to think outside the box and go above and beyond what the top of the big sky is offering. If he's able to get NIL money/deals and pay top players they could eventually out recruit a lot of teams.I’m not going to get into specifics of what I was told on why he wasn’t offered. But I was told he wasn’t offered. Seems like somebody stated some reasons earlier in this thread. And Cavallo was offered but turned it down for the reason I stated. And the newest guy withdrew stating his wife decided she didn’t wanna move. Again that is what I was told. Doesn’t mean there weren’t more issues behind the scenes.
Haslam was adamant they are offering 3-5 year contracts and the pay is close to the top for the Big Sky. He said not one coach at UM has a 1 year contract.
Same with the current players no communication just rumors. No J hasn’t been part of the process, he’s been getting info second hand.
What I don't understand why would you invite Weber to campus and then say you didn't like him? So his interview was good enough on zoom to bring to campus but then not good enough when on campus? I find that hard to believe personally.Good infor, Thank you. Your correct, it makes no sense, he was offered the job after Cavallo turned it down. What I don't understand why would you invite Weber to campus and then say you didn't like him? Another odd decision, you would think before Davey flew over 1,000 miles him and hid wife would be on the same page. Sounds like just a move to get a pay hike at Washburn. If your married, have kids and looking to move you understand.Cavallo turned it down. Said he couldn’t leave his current school after 1 year. His dog is named Missoula. So they were kinda shocked.
Boise AC wasn’t offered the job. Interview was not good.
Davey withdrew before an offer could be made. Wife didn’t want to move to Montana.

You have to play the game with AD at all levels. The Washburn coach walks in tells his AD I've been invited to for an on campus interview at Montana. The AD starts to put wheels in motion by contacting the President about giving the coach a salary increase and at a private school like Washburn that can move much quicker than a state school.Another odd decision, you would think before Davey flew over 1,000 miles him and hid wife would be on the same page. Here’s the situation within the current 13 rostered players….working hard and getting better every day. Training going really well. They need/want a head coach NOW! The lack of urgency and the apparent turning down the job by three different candidates is concerning to say the least. All new transfers are asking themselves “what am I doing here”? The others are strongly considering transferring May 1-15. Someone with some clout needs to speak with AD/Associate AD like now!Good infor, Thank you. Then you aren't in the business of hiring for professional positions. It isn't uncommon. What I don't understand why would you invite Weber to campus and then say you didn't like him? 100%Yes, you need both, hence needing an experienced coach with a recruiting network at the club level. There have been several players and coaches including international players that have reached out to coach J that are interested in playing for the Griz. Maybe the interim tag and not knowing who the coach will be is having an effect on signing players.

This is going from bad to catastrophic very quickly.
Bingo. Especially when you only have three (viable) candidates anyway. And I mean viable, as in they at least received a Zoom interview. Interviews on Zoom are way different than in-person. In the end you want to see how they interact in-person before drawing definite conclusions. At least that's my experiences on hiring committees. Then you aren't in the business of hiring for professional positions. It isn't uncommon.
Just been looking him up. He won both championships at Northwestern State, got them ranked in the top 70 RPI. The Big Sky conference isn't good, its basically the same as the Southland conference. Looking it up, in 2025 the Big Sky was ranked 24th and the Southland was ranked 25th out the 30 division 1 conferences.I think this level of soccer might be too high for him. Yea he did well before but at naia level and that is a whole different animal than ncaa. He won only 2 conference games in 3 seasons.
