It appears that CET is back on the team.

Good news! :) The Griz need his speed and quickness! I have to wonder, though, how long it will be before he is ready to play major minutes.

Good work by CET on the academic side but I have since he has been gone I've been wondering what if?
How far would Stockton be along if he had started the last 8 games and Stauds was coming off the bench?
Would Stauds have an easier time getting his shots coming off the bench, working against opponents 3rd or 4th guards?
Could Stockton replace 4 points and 4 assists that CET provides? After watching Stockton's poise last week I say throw him to the wolves and let's see if he is the future.

Just a few meandering thoughts ...

:o "We are going to try and rush him down here. .....then it will be a game time decision whether to play him." :o

Montana basketball has reached a new level. Remember back when we ran off Monty. Cal is all alone in first place as of 4:00 pm on Sat Jan. 17, 2009

I too like Stockton from the little we have seen of him. However, CET brings a few things that one does not see in the stats. He brings quickness and defense. Also 2 of our key players are much better with CET on the court. Hasquet, and especially Staudacher are much better with CET on the court. As CET gets more playing time, I will not be surprised to see Stauds play get better again. As for Hasquet, I really do not know what to expect. Your guess is as good as mine.

Elgin-Taylor reinstated

The long wait is over for Griz senior guard Ceylon Elgin-Taylor.

Montana men's coach Wayne Tinkle said Tuesday that Elgin-Taylor has been reinstated from his nine-game suspension and is with the team in Spokane preparing for Wednesday's game at Eastern Washington.

Elgin-Taylor had been suspended following his arrest for DUI on Dec. 6.

Tinkle said he's not sure how much time, if any, the point guard will see against the Eagles.

“I would go with the rotation we've had in the first half and throw (freshman) Shawn Stockton in there,” Tinkle said. “We'll see where we are at halftime. If the situation calls for it, we'd throw him out there.”

and Monty won how many BSC Titles?? Oh yeah...NONE. He did have some great OOC records against the Simon Frasers and Sisters of the Poor though. Keep living in the past.

I hope he does see some time against EWU. If he's been practicing with the team, we really need to end up with him back in the starting lineup soon. With CET at the 1 and AJ at the 2, we'd have some nice quickness in the backcourt.

Way to go CET!!! Way to get that grade figured out a month and half after the semester ends! Glad you took your final year of college ball serious enough to only miss about 40% of the season. Way to be a team player! We were so good early in the year when we had you and look at the mess this season has become without you.

The grade issue WAS NOT the reason he missed 10 games. I love it when someone assumes something.... what are the first 3 letters of assume....thought so.

GB...inquiring minds....
I'm too lazy to look up the links but will assume that TInks must have just been misquoted on multiple occasions via multiple sources over a period of 9 games and nearly 2 months.....

I'm just really glad he's back now. I hope it doesn't take too long for him to get back into the starting lineup and getting quality minutes. Earlier in the season I really liked what I saw defensively and on offense when we had both AJ and CET on the court at the same time.

I know about all three of the reasons it took this long. And none of them impress me as showing the character of a senior team leader.

.......we were so much better early this year when CET was dribbling around the perimeter.....

Did it ever occur to you that there are times when Tinks, and every other coach in America are not at liberty, nor under any obligation, to tell you every damn thing that occurs behind closed doors? do you air all your dirty laundry? he works for the taxpayer response in 5...4...3.......

Gb ..thanks for the offer but I don't really need to know any more then the official public statements put out by the team or University. When applicable I actually prefer the old "violation of team rules" line to protect the kids privacy and then let the system take care of it.
Go Griz

From what I've seen of Stockton he's no where ready for D-1 ball. Might be his jr year until he can post an even turnover to assist ratio as a starter.

Go Griz

No matter what Tinks said, or didn't say. some dipwad on Egriz would take issue with it, then tell us all how it should be done.
