predicts we'll win the big sky and face #1 seed north carolina in the tournament. strait and hasquet first-team all-conference but they say we'll need more scoring from rundles and martin.

nationally, memphis wins it all. yes...memphis.

on the women's side, we rank 39, one slot behind wyoming, the defending nit champs, but two slots ahead of b.y.u., 13 ahead of washington and 17 ahead of gonzaga. squib reads: "with top six players back, anxious for redemption after stumbling in big sky tournament."

If you want Memphis, PM me with the amount you wish to lose City. :thumb:

If I had to pick a team at this point I would have to go with Weber State. They have the best and deepest talent in the league.

I bet the magazine predicted that, not city :thumb:

By the way Sporting News College Basketball Preview also has the Griz as #1, with Andrew Strait as Conference MVP. The only comment I will make is that SN also figured Sean Watson would be playing some major minutes, so I do not know how that would work into their thinking. The other thing is that I have said it before I think the Griz best player this year will be Hasquet.

Wouldnt Watson of gotten some serious minutes if he stayed though?

agree on hasquet. if strait can return to soph year form and/or beat the double team instead of settling for baby hooks this team will be unstoppable in the Big Sky.

two themes emerge from a reading of the pre-season bb magazines.

first, since most of the info in them comes straight from each school's publicity department, it is obvious the griz were counting big time on watson. he's mentioned prominently in each mag as a likely starter.

second, among the five magazines i've seen, all predict either montana or weber to win the conference. so, the old weber-montana rivalry seems to be heating up again.
