Cats vs. Griz MT Players on Two Deep

Compile a list of those one feels are the greatest to play for either team, then look at where they are from originally. Break it down by position if you choose. Start with quarterbacks in Bozeangeles and San Franzoola. MSUs starting quarterbacks in 76 and 84? Dennehey and Bradley. UM in 95 and 01. Dickenson and Edwards. That means nothing really. Use statistics then. DaNarius is from Texas. Lulay from Oregon.

The rosters of the Power 5 schools are full of Florida, Texas, and California kids. I don't understand what a roster full of kids born in another state who happened to graduate from a Montana high school proves. Silly argument really.

I think UM and MSU should have all Montana natives. Further, I think UM should limit recruiting to the best of the best in Missoula, south of the Clark Fork, east of Higgins, and north of Beckwith. Likewise, MSU should at least try to make their roster primarily the best of Bozeman, north of Kagy, east of 19th, south of College St. We want local kids on these rosters, not foreigners from Frenchtown or Belgrade.

Damn right, and we only want players who can trace their ancestry back to a least three generations in Montana. Will be hard for the Bozeman team cause most of the people in Bozeman moved there from Los Angeles.

Now we're talking. If I had it my way, the QBs for both teams should have to prove that they were conceived in Montana, in Missoula (or Boze), on game day, on campus, in the stadium, during a game, and the game had to have ended in a home win, preferably a playoff win.

6-5, 4-7
8-5, 6-5

This "win the state" argument is nothing more than a circle-jerk until someone starts winning real games.

Could "@ half-time, during the tailgater or in the restroom, during the game count? Asking for a confused friend. Thanks.

You're not going to last long here posting well-reasoned, sensical stuff like this. Time to rethink your strategy.

I have to be honest, that doesnt look good. Looks like a NDSU line up of none ND players. But if you look back to around 2002, it was a total flip flop. Griz had way more MT kids starting vs. the cats. It is a cyclical thing.

I bet both teams would take NDSUs trophy case.

Goddamn dirty French frogs!

Okay, fine. But let's compare the number of good, hard-working kids from strong families with fine work ethics. We own your asses.

Yeah but don't they own the state? And didn't they beat the atmosphere? Is that why they built that faggy little satellite? Are the cats responsible for global climate change? Fuckers!

Not trying to justify either way, really doesn't matter a lot to me, I have lived in MT my whole life, and I do enjoy MT kids, but like NDSU has done, I would much rather win on the field. One thing to remember, both of these coaches had different ideas on how to build a program. Stitt chooses to red shirt all of his freshman unless there is a an emergency, and Choate chooses to play quite a bit of true freshman. For me personally I think that Stitt is making the right decision if you're trying to build a program long term. Really pretty childish argument, and there are many ways to spin this for each team if one chooses. Time for football games to begin.

this is another in the long line of asinine arguments that will go on between cat and griz fans forever. it'll always be as stupid as it is right now. they put on that jersey, they're on our team.

Solid post. This is why I could never get on the Tucker Schye bandwagon. I mean Malta? Really? And don't even get me started on those skirt wearing, bag pipe blowing sissies from Glasgow.

No kidding! I liked him better when I thought he was from this Malta!

A true freshman from Texas (I think) just went over 180 yards rushing for Ohio State. I don't think they worry about whether or not a kid went to high school in Ohio. I really don't. Plus I think most schools like to see freshmen start if they're the best player rather than redshirt the kid.
