Tell you the truth, I did not watch the Griz/Cat games on TV. I dislike watching basketball on TV I guess. But I have gone to all the BB games at home and will be watching the Griz in their next home games. But it sure looked like Griz had every chance to win the game but didn't come up with the big play at the end. Oh well. Next game in Missoula will definitely be different. Criswell will shoot much better for a guy that averages around 19 points at home and only about 10 points a game on the road. David Bell does not shoot as well when playing point guard but he is the only guy that can play the position with consistency. Griz have Riddle but he isn't that good. He can be at times though.

But my opinion of them, is that this is a team that plays harder and with greater intensity. The talent isn't there in certain positions like center or power forward, but that will change with time. McKay is going to grow into the center position, and Kennedy has recruited a couple of JC recruits one which should fill the power forward position quite nicely. Also, recruited a player that should replace David Bell that scores a lot of points. What looks like the loss of Mansell due to academics, Kennedy will really need to look into signing a point guard.

Lady Griz just have a tough start in conference and should get better as the season goes along. Team is probably the youngest it has been in quite some time. I do not think Selvig is slipping, but other teams in the conference has improved quite a bit the last 3 or 4 years. Weber State and Montana State do have the most experience in the league. I actually pick Weber State as the team to beat.

But the Lady Griz do have some good talent that will help Lady Griz in the next 2 or 3 years. Will need to get a point guard to replace Lorenzen though. Signing a top notch point guard that can also shoot the ball should be the number one goal of Selvig's for next year. One that isn't scared to shoot or at least doesn't hesitate in shooting. That is one big problem with Lorenzen and Montes at point guard. Neither of them want to shoot the ball. Lorenzen seems to do a little better but it still is a last resort thing for her.

Derek Mansell has regained his eligibility and is back on the team. According to Coach Kennedy he did a good job of staying in shape as well with his academics over the semester break. His return should help the GRIZ considerably! :D
