Carpenter placed on IR, Dolphins sign Kaeding

Miami Dolphins kicker and former Griz standout Dan Carpenter has been placed on Injured Reserve with a serious groin injury. The Dolphins have signed former San Diego kicker Nate Kaeding. Carpenter has one year remaining on his contract with the Dolphins at a salary on 2.67 million, which is very high for a kicker. Look for the Dolphins to bring in some competition in training camp. If Dan returns to full health in training camp it would be very unlikely he would be cut due to the large salary cap hit the Dolphins would take, and still have to pay another kicker. Good luck to Carp in his recovery.

Bummer---serious groin injury and on IR...especially bad for a kicker. Here's to Carps getting healthy and coming back strong next year.

He will recover, no problem over the off season, I hope he uses DMSO, and I wouldn't mind him in a Seahawks jersey

In Seattle--that would be SWEET! :D Unfortunately for Carps our current kicker Houska (sp??) is rock solid...

Packers could use a kicker.

I tweeted the Packers & Brody. If he signs, I should get a commission.

On a side note, dropped Carp for Dan Bailey.

There you go. I would be happy with a Brody pick-up. Feel bad for Mason but you can't go soft on a guy if he's going to cost you a game.

Well if Dan gets dropped I bet Fisher goes shopping, not only for Dan but Marc as well if titans don't give him a chance back.

I don't think Marc is going anywhere, considering how many the Titans have tried out at KR...

Problem is with the new kickoff distance it has all but killed that aspect of the game, making it even tougher for a guy like Marc to prove himself.
