Can Haslam get the Griz into the playoffs?

If they get a playoff (and my opinion they don't deserve one with the quality of the only teams they could beat and getting embarrassed today in a "must win" type situation against a one dimensional offense) and if it is at home I think you might want to look around the stadium and look at the excitement level right now with Hauck 2.0. The number of season ticket holders that are saying "no thanks" to their seats for a playoff game after today (they already have the email asking them to) will be in the thousands. His RTD has been exposed playing good teams, no one likes to watch what they saw today. Hell might as well move up people are so satisfied with 7-4 team getting ass beat by state they think all is well so wouldn't mind being mediocre for the next 20 years.

I do recognize that, and think they can win. You two sound soft and scared.

How is it "soft and scared" when we literally have zero wins this season against teams with winning records?

Because you would rather not get in the playoffs even though it might be tough.

UM didn't play any teams with winning records, other than 3 top 5 teams and Idaho. UM barely lost to SS and Weber, even without the no. 1 qb. Please don't tell me you think UM couldn't have beaten a team with a winning record. You can't possibly be that stupid about football, or can you?

If they get in, and I am not sure they will, it will be a typical Thanksgiving weekend crowd. I am also not sure anyone has said they are satisfied with a 7-4 season, but it is funny how no one wants to give him the benefit of the doubt with back to back 10 win seasons with trips to the quarterfinals.

It called being realistic. Proof is in the pudding. Zero quality wins yet this season. Why should we go to the playoffs then? Because we can pay the NCAA more $$$??? That is beyond weak and far below the standards of this storied program.

I'd be happy getting into the playoffs even if we hadn't won a game. It's about competition. Who knows what could happen.

So you don't think they could win a game in the playoffs? Honestly I can't give you a reason other than a 24 team playoff field is just too watered down and a couple teams that might not deserve it will get in. Personally, I don't think they will get in, but if they do, I think they are capable of winning some games.

"UM didn't play any teams with winning records other than..." then immediately proceeds to list 4 losses against teams with winning records.

And here I thought lawyers were supposed to be good at critical thinking and arguing...

Disgusting that this is even a thread.

Seriously - wondering if the AD can shake some hands to get the team into the playoffs...instead of just winning games. Gross.

+1.

Yeah, Griz don’t ‘deserve’ shit, and I’m fully onboard with this season being over. That people seem to want a handout from haslam is a little grotesque and so freaking sad. UM won zero games against quality opponents, and should be on the outside looking in. If it were another team with the same circumstances this wouldn’t even be a discussion. My hope is that because of this season next year we don’t have to listen to the insufferable pandering to hauck of all the homer pundits stroking his ego about how this is a “championship team” and “depth” and blah fucking blah. I’m sick of the circle jerk, it’s time for changes that lead to results for Christ sake

I don’t disagree, but it’s hard to find 23 teams better than UM this year. Resume based they have “quality” losses and that’s it. so really no good resume, but we all know that there aren’t 23 better teams so how does that play in? If NDSU can’t get years past to help them, I’m not sure that UM should get that treatment either. I am curious what the administration does to turn the tides. But I don’t think it involves removing Hauck and company.

I can't believe that Griz fans are actually rooting for them to not get selected. I am not so sure they will get in, but I believe they can win games if they do.

‘Games”?? That’s a bit optimistic with this staff. I’m thinking maybe one game.

I don't think anyone said they couldn't, they said they didn't. Do you think they did?

Dozens of posters implied that they couldn’t. That’s why they kept repeating the stat. I just clarified the point. In my view, the stat they were taunting was largely irrelevant in the case of the Griz.

I suppose I could start that the Griz never lost to a team with a losing record.

To me, the important points are that the Griz lost to 3 of the top teams in FCS, 2 in very close games, and in those 2, the no. 1 qb was out. To me, the only blemishes we’re getting crushed by the Cats and losing Idaho.

The fact that it's even a debate whether or not the Griz get into the playoffs is proof things need to change in the football program.

How is it proof that things needs to change?
Because the way the playoffsvare structured you basically only have to be a top 4 to 5 team in the bsc to get in. I feel if there is a debate whether or not the Griz are even a top 4 or 5 team in the bsc change needs to be made.
