Cal Poly "Up North" Preview

Poly is definitely better than last nights score indicated. Anyone who watched that game knows 2 things for certain.
1) Jaden Jones is an absolute gamer cut from the same cloth as Vernon Adams and Eric Barriere. He is the total package. Baldwin has done it again dammit, and he appears to have found yet another four year starting QB.

2) the cal poly vs Fresno game was FAR closer than the scoreboard indicated. Cal poly was in the red zone four times and came away with just 7 points. CP was two dropped passes and a slightly overthrown ball away from being within 7 points of Fresno. The game could have, and should have been 35-28 Fresno, but that’s football.

My point is, do NOT sleep on Poly. They have a tough schedule, but man do they look like they’re coming along. I can tell that if not this year, then for sure next year they will be in the mix for a conference title.

Agree. I was impressed with how Poly played after the first quarter. Thought they would take the FG towards the end of the half to keep that momentum. I had the exact thoughts about Jones. He gets away from pressure and hurts you with his legs. Once he gets more experience those throws on the run will be on the money. Baldwin is building a good program

Not only that but they has some 100% INTs that somehow the DBs didn't make... I think I counted at least three. As someone else said, they are CLOSE to being contenders IMO. Cats and griz both play them late season so might be tough depending on who stays healthy.
 
I think this is exactly why the poly game was chosen for the night game. Hopefully it’s a cold one.
